Very sad. He was a member of our church and wrote these "Top Ten Reasons to be an Episcopalian", which he delivered on an HBO special.

I can't believe it. He was so good.

He made so many really fun movies in the 80s and 90s. Aladdin, Mrs. Doubtfire, good morning Vietnam, Good Will Hunting, Patch Adams, Dead Poets Society,

Most likely a suicide. That is really tragic.

This was his most ironic quote:

'I used to think the worst thing in life
was to end up all alone, it’s not. The worst
thing in life is to end up with people that
    make you feel all alone.'

    ~ Robin Williams

Yea I just saw that. It's funny, you always think "Oh it would be great to be rich/famous" because that's what we're socialized to believe, but I think celebrities live a very isolated life in some ways, and have to be so carefully "managed" with what they put out into the world. It is small wonder that they have very public failings, and why so many of them end up so messed up.

I read that he was dealing with depression. I am not too up on pop culture or media, but I read that his last TV series was cancelled and I'm not sure about recent movie track record. Even though I am sure he didn't have to worry about money, if he was feeling like things were starting to flounder or slow down maybe he couldn't handle it. People get into show business for a lot of reasons besides money.

Or it could have been something completely else. Who knows icon_cry.gif

I just heard this earlier from my brother and I didn't believe him but wow... That is so sad. He seemed like such a happy man but of course, you never know what people are really feeling...

I'll really miss him. I loved his portrayal of Genie and he played so many great and unforgettable characters. He'll be missed... I wish him the best in the afterlife as well as his family and friends... RIP...

The bay area has been his home and many here are extremely saddened. He was well known here, as was his dedication to San Francisco and it's comedy. Mrs Doubtfire's house is here and many are stopping to pay respects to him. A sad day indeed. Nanu Nanu...we loved you Mork!

Not too far behind that would be his hypnotic repetition in "Good Will Hunting" until the patient (Matt Damon) breaks down:

"It's not your fault...it's not your fault..."
