Sadly, this is probably the best possible thing Obama could do, as his track record has been poor to say the least.

Obama vacations as the world burns

President Obama must really be teed off.

Hillary Rodham Clinton, his once-loyal secretary of state and his likeliest successor, has gone rogue, criticizing his foreign policy as too timid.

Clinton, in an interview with Jeffrey Goldberg published by the Atlantic over the weekend, offered a withering comment on the Obama doctrine, described in shorthand by White House officials as "don't do stupid s---." Said Clinton: "Great nations need organizing principles, and 'Don't do stupid stuff' is not an organizing principle."

As the criticism became public, Obama was doggedly sticking with his plans to go on vacation — a decision that, if not in the category of stupid stuff, could fit under the heading of "tone deafness."

Flashback: What Obama Said About Taking Vacations in 2008 Video is a Real Howler

Pre-election interview with then-Senator Barack Obama in 2008

The senator had high expectations for himself, if he were to receive Americans’ vote for President.

You have to understand that if you seek that office, then you have to be prepared to give your life to it. Essentially, the bargain that I think every President strikes with the American people is, ‘you give me this office, then in turn my fears, doubts, insecurities, foibles, need for sleep, family life, vacations, leisure, is gone. I am giving myself to you.’

It turns out that all of then-Senator Obama’s talk about ‘sacrifice’ was just that – all talk.

Bush took more vacations while President than any other President in known times. While American soldiers died daily in Iraq, Bush vacationed..Fuck Dana Milbank, and the horse he rode in on....

You really do like using bold don't you?

Also, this is just true of most leaders to be perfectly honest with you. I love it how some people have an anti-Obama vendetta or an anti-DavidCameron vendetta. Seriously, they're all in positions of power, of course they don't give a shit and are going to take a holiday - what else do you expect?

You also assume that whilst on holiday they're not involved in politics. It's simply a change of location.

This has all the maturity of complaining that he doesn't even get up and go to an office. He just stays at home all day.

    LMAO! Clever insight!

And these are not so much "vacations" anyway, as the rest of us would take. He doesn't let the phone go unanswered, nor have the post office hold his mail. He's getting daily briefings & updates, wherever he is, much of his staff with him or on call.

They're really more a change of scenery from the White House, and often combined with other business in that area. Maybe if Obama took anywhere near the amount of vacations that Bush did, or played as much golf, there might be something for southbeach to complain about.

But since he never complained about Bush's chronic absenteeism, I don't see how he could, in good conscience, complain about Obama. Oh, wait, I forgot. According to SB EVERYTHING Obama does is wrong, and everything Republicans have done is right. That clears the matter up. icon_rolleyes.gif
