Oh, I get it ... closet doors opening, right? Heavy! Either that or someone's seen 2001, A Space Odyssey a few too many times.

Do we really need or want this? I do not like being condescended to, or being used by other individuals or organizations to advance their own agendas, let alone set apart, which is an other way to view this uninspired monolith. Monuments for everyone end up being a monument to no one.

Excellent. No better way of honoring veterans than a "separate but equal" monument.
God forbid they are remembered by the same monuments as the rest of their fallen comrades.

If they want to commemorate LGBT vets, they should start by reimbursing the ones who were kicked out for being gay.

Your point of view is not approved by the self appointed, politically correct "gay majority."

Love how you use the phrase PC/politically-correct a considerable amount of times on message-boards.

It's fascinating how nobody has ever come up with a conclusive definition of what "political correctness" is (and the people who use the phrase don't even know the roots of "political-correctness"), yet there are some individuals who are so convinced of using the clich├ęd phrase constantly as if it has any worth in a debate, as if it's a golden-sword which makes them knighted as supreme king and instantly means they are 'right' when they use those two bloody words in political discourse.
