It seems that the newly anointed fearless leader of Ferguson, Missouri found it necessary to ring those armored vehicles back online during the wee hours of Sunday morning. Could it be in spite of the usual liberal mantra of fake facts, that the folks in Ferguson really don't give a damn about anything other than being criminals?

I personally think they should focus their wrath on Springfield and burn the state capital down with Jay Nixon sitting in his office. Then perhaps liberals just might for once accept the reality of what some young black men are capable of, but I doubt it.

Perhaps as a consolation the owners of the businesses in Ferguson that were looted will sue Governor Nixon for reparations from his precious gang of thugs.

icon_lol.gif. Ya'll have fun burning and looting. It won't last forever.

It seems "but for" the shooting of the Missouri teenager, none of the events would have transpired:

August 9, 2014: Michael Brown Is Shot
August 10: Protests Amid Calls for Patience
Evening of August 10: Witnesses describe a peaceful protest that turned violent
August 11: F.B.I. Opens Civil Rights Investigation
August 12: Police Decline to Identify Officer
August 13: Anger Mounts Over Anonymity of Police Officer
August 14: Shift in Oversight of Crowd Control
August 15: Dueling Police Statements as Anger Rises
August 16: Governor Declares Curfew in Ferguson
August 17: Clashes Erupt as Some Protesters Ignore Curfew

I've been reading about the militarization of local law enforcement agencies for some time now. However, it's not been publications like the NYT that have been concerned about it -- it's been right of center groups that have been raising the flag, especially the gun rights people.

    Ironic, isn't it?

Missouri Teenager Was Struck Six Times

    18BROWN-hp-v2-largeHorizontal375.jpg
A detail from a report showing the entry, and re-entry and exit wounds from six bullets.

NYT: A private, family-requested autopsy shows that Michael Brown was shot at least six times — twice in the head — with all of the bullets striking him in the front.

The Times sucks, but as the nation's "paper of record," they are forced to tell the news straight when it counts.

They will get a lot of guff from the Left for printing the autopsy sketch, just as they did for posting shots of the QT surveillance video.

Why would "the Left" complain about a sketch that weakens the police version of events, that portrayed Brown as the aggressor?

BTW, the person who did that sketch is the former Chief Medical Examiner for NYC, well known to the Times staff and its New York readership. Hence sort of a "local angle" to the story for them.

The "unbiased witnesses" account prior to the riots was that Brown was shot while moving away from the officer. This contradicts that account.

Bullet wounds on Brown's right side are consistent with the officer pulling shots to the left during stress. One bullet (according to articles) entered the eye socket and exited the neck. The fatal bullet entered the top front of the skull and went into the brain -- it was the fatal shot.

The toxicology report will be interesting. To take that number of shots and keep approaching the officer, Brown must have been drugged to the gills.

What do both sides say about how Mr. Brown was killed?

NYT: The circumstances of Michael Brown's death on Aug. 9 are in dispute. Mr. Brown and a friend were walking from a convenience store when Mr. Brown was fatally shot by a Ferguson police officer. Friends and witnesses say Mr. Brown’s hands were in the air when the last of several shots was fired.

The police say that Mr. Brown was shot during a fight for the officer’s gun.

What information have the police released so far?

NYT: Thomas Jackson, the Ferguson police chief, initially suggested that Officer Wilson had been alerted to the robbery shortly before encountering Mr. Brown.

Later, however, Chief Jackson said that Officer Wilson was not aware that Mr. Brown might be a suspect in the crime when he stopped Mr. Brown and a companion “because they were walking down the street blocking traffic.”

Is Ferguson generally a violent area?

NYT: Not when compared with neighboring towns. The violent crime rate is far lower in Ferguson than in Jennings, and it is comparable to two other adjacent towns of similar size.

Prof. Shawn L. Parcells, a pathologist assistant, explained the independent preliminary autopsy report.

NYT: Daryl Parks, another lawyer for the family, said the autopsy proved that the bullet that killed Mr. Brown entered the top of his head and came out through the front at an angle that suggested his head was facing downward when he was killed, Mr. Parks said.

“Why would he be shot in the very top of his head, a 6-foot-4 man?” he said. “It makes no sense. And so that’s what we have.”

Who said Brown kept approaching? Not witnesses. Nor was he ever close enough that powder burns appear on his body.

He was unarmed, with enough distance from this officer that no powder burns were left, with his hands up to surrender, as most eye witnesses have said. And he gets 6 slugs in him???

And BTW, this "clean record" police officer actually had a number of complaints against him. The only reason his record now appears clean is because... Ferguson PD didn't put those reports in an officer's personnel record! They just went away!

WHEEEE!!! ALL the police in Ferguson, Missouri have clean records. This story just gets better and better. While the Right spins and spins, and brings out the "thug" word to besmirch the murdered victim. Just like they did with Trayvon Martin, and any Black who gets gunned down in our streets. They're all "thugs" (the current Right euphemism for the N-word) who deserved it anyway.

Good gawd, what has happened to our country? Have the racists really taken over?

Poor Obama. He says pretty words about remaining calm, and no looting or pulling out guns, protesting peacefully in Ferguson.

    Fallen on deaf ears.

Get used to it because more older, first ring suburbs are in decline and are no longer in vogue in terms of great places to live. You will see more first ring suburban communities dealing with these serious social problems along with deteriorating infrastructure and failing schools. The middle class is decamping for suburban communities further out which is expanding the doughnut hole and spreading the distress beyond the city line to include all the older, first ring suburbs. Metropolitan areas will be much larger in land area even though they are either slow growing, stagnant, or declining in population. Pittsburgh and Rochester are two outstanding examples of metropolitan sprawl without any significant population growth in the metro area.
