Although Daily Mail, this article is actually good by their standards.

I watched the 4:40 min video, Live Leak is carrying it after You Tube pulled it. It wasn't as graphic as the Nick Berg video until James head was shown on his back. The actual cutting was not shown by the militant but the knife looked pretty small, only like a 6" blade. Its never easy but I think there have been so many now, its not as shocking as it once was. The US has the highest gun- murder rate, I guess they like to use knives, head chopping head-hunters of the jungle, Bastards.........icon_evil.gif

Is the family supposed to get the body, head back for proper burial or do the militants throw it into graves?

The Nick Berg video was shot on a pixely cell-phone, so it's difficult to debate how 'graphic' it was. But I think that misses the point: it's not how much we see it's the fact that we know that this isn't fiction and this is a real person.

As for the gun issue in America, I don't live in the US, so I haven't been desensitised by gun-nuts as of yet.

Don't care if I come across like an artistic snob, but I'm inclined to agree. It's always come across as a musical equivalent of singing for people who can't actually sing.

It's also too much bogged down in materialism and sexism for me to even care.

why do people talk about things they don't know? just because there are some rappers and some songs that are about that doesn't mean everybody or all rap fans are into that.

and yes, rap is an art form and music. if you don't like rap, that's cool but don't dismiss it as an art form because you don't like it.

I'm a sarcastic thundercunt, don't take me too seriously Melissa. icon_rolleyes.gif

I'm a big music fan and the best rapper at the moment is Akala - his lyrics are great, and his interviews are great. Good dissection of race and class in British society.

Rap is an art form but ultimately a contrived one. Might as well be poetry. It offers nothing new to lyrics like singing does. And music videos don't count - they're just marketing tools and Morrissey was right about his views on them.
