I got a huge puncture yesterday, so big that the tire sealant blew out of the tire instead of sealing the hole.

Then last night as I tried to fix it, I noticed I was out of glue in the patch kit, so I used Krazy Glue. The tire is currently holding air, but I haven't ridden it yet...going to ride in a couple hrs. I'll report back to say whether it held up or not. This is gonna be interesting. icon_lol.gif

You realize you still need to replace the tire? Is this the bike I saw just the other day?

Yeah, same bike. I've already got a tire on order (ordered it last week) but it hasn't arrived yet.

And if the current tire re-pops, I have another new/barely-used tire here I can stick on for the tim being, but I don't like the tread on it...doesn't grip in high-speed turns like I'm used to.

Update: I'm still using the same tire with no problems. In fact, I'm using it at the Alafia Fat Tire Festival next week...some serious off-road singletrack stuff.

Suffice to say, that "patch job" has turned out to be incredibly durable.

Of course, I do have spare tires just in case, but I seriously doubt I'll need them.

Aaaaaaaaaand, that tire just made it through the Alafia Fat Tire Festival...seriously knarly singletrack with some crazy rough/rooty downhills. Oh, and I rode the Vortex Red trails at Santos (in Ocala) before the festival. 61 miles of knar in 3 days. Not too bad. icon_biggrin.gif
