like the title states, not sure how we both can recover from that. He's in my baseball team and We've been friends for a long time and somehow we slept together. he was curious and wanted to try having sex with a guy. Well, the sex was great icon_biggrin.gif. Even my friend said so, but i can feel that we both have this awkwardness going on....

Any advice on how to fix the awkwardness between us?icon_question.gif

I would need to know where the "awkwardness" was coming from. Shame? Guilt? Not sure how to integrate this into your friendship? All of the above, none of the above, what?

At the very least you need to talk about it with one another and find out what it "means" to each of you. Does it "mean" he isn't so straight after all? Sexuality isn't black and white -gay or straight- there is a continuum. Do you and your friend understand this? Do either of you want to do it again or was this a one-off thing? Etc.

You can't "fix" it. Your relationship is forever changed.

Yup. Don't be shy. Or assertive. Or romantic. Or bro. Just shrug your shoulders and laugh and ask how he's feeling about the night. Just tell him straight out that it was good for you but you're feeling unsure how he's doing. Life is good if you take chances. Be prepared for him to not be sure what he thinks. If that is the case, just reassure him that everything is OK and you're fine. And that he's still a great friend. Not to worry.

You're 19 - assuming he is around the same age, that's what a lots of teens do - explore sex in various forms. He could be straight, bi, less-than-straight, experimenting - and you don't have any effect on that. If he wants to talk about it, he will. If he doesn't, don't pry. Unless he does, if you just act normal around him like you used to do, and don't get all romantic, his awkwardness may pass, and things return to the way they were. And he'll have a story to tell 20 years from now.

What's there to fix? Y'all had sex...big deal. You're both adults. Life goes on and that shouldn't affect a real friendship.

If he had sex with you then he isn't straight. You can't change someone's sexuality.

Your sexual orientation also has an emotional/romantic attraction component as well. I wouldn't want to have sex with a girl but that doesn't mean I can't and I will not feel the same kind of emotional tie I would with her if it was with a man.

Emotions =/= Sexuality. The OP (which I believe he is lying) said his friend is straight, he never said his straight friend was in love with him and he never mentioned drugs or being drunk. How can a straight person have sex with the same sex and enjoy it? By definition that person is not straight then. Simple.

Straight, Gay, Bisexual are sexual orientations. That is why I changed your "sexuality" into "sexual orientation" when I responded. There are men who have sex with men who identify as straight. My point is that his friend just had sex with him, simple as that. You cannot tell someone their own sexual orientation because that is theirs to own and not yours to define.

Nha, it's just that I can't stand gays like you that have a hidden agenda to change other people's sexuality. Gays get annoyed when straight people try to change them but they insist on changing straight guys just to suck their dick. Avoid the double standards please. And gay men that have sex with women are usually self-loathing or just want to fit in a heteronormative world. That doesn't happen to straight guys. Bye.

Wait, what? I thought that's what you were doing? - Trying to exert your opinion on the OP's friend's sexual orientation by saying that he was no longer straight but bisexual?

    Good grief... icon_neutral.gif

I wonder if the gay men who have sex with curious "straight" men ever get curious enough to have sex with women. Probably not... unless they're bi to begin with.

Inorite? And by saying that some straight men decide to have sex with gay men and end up liking it, aren't they basically saying that being gay is a choice or that being gay can be changed like religious fundamentalists say? lol Some gays are so dumb.
