NYT: Dollywood has drawn gay travelers for years. Ms. Parton, 68, remains a supporter of the gay community. In July, she announced she was working on a new song called “Just a Wee Bit Gay” that was a positive and fun nod to gay culture.

Dollywood has also become a magnet for gays and lesbians who work in the entertainment field or simply love the culture that surrounds Ms. Parton. But it’s an odd existence in which one’s personal life is sometimes lived in the shadows — a reflection of life for many gay and lesbian residents in the rural South. Tennessee, like every state in the South, does not protect people who are gay from getting evicted or fired based on sexual orientation. So a don’t-ask-don’t-tell survival strategy is sometimes necessary.

“We’re in the business for all families,” she said. “A family is a family whether you’re a gay family or a straight family. If that’s your family you should be treated with the utmost respect, and we do that no matter what. I say a good Christian wouldn’t be judging anyway. We’re supposed to love and accept each other.”

Perhaps I "caught the gay" from going to Dollywood as a kid, we would rotate Disney one year Dollywood the next. Note while all the above is true I don't think I caught the gay from Dollywood,( im not that ignorant) rather; I think I caught it from eating happymeals.icon_biggrin.gificon_cool.gificon_wink.gif

No, theme parks in general are a magnet for gays. I consider myself a bit of a coaster/theme park enthusiast. Half the other guys/enthusiasts I talk to are gay as well. Go figure!

Is there any reason for this?

It's like everyone here going crazy for the Eurovision song festival is gay. I don't understand it.
