    Wow so that's how liberty and justice will die in the uk. I was about to read the news but I imagine that's the main headline of the day so hopefully the rest is a bit more positive!

    The UK even has secret trials (I believe the US does as well). We've scrapped 100% jury conviction. If 1 person disagreed with the rest of the jury, he/she could fight it out till the end. Now it's just majority juries, so now the idea that all 12 jurors have to come to the same verdict has been scrapped.

    Habeas corpus is being slowly distorted and dissolved, and it thoroughly disturbs me.

    Apparently we have had at least one secret trial here and regarding jurors I was led to believe that you needed a unanimous verdict. I worry soon we'll end up with an American style justice system sponsored by Coca Cola or McDonalds and streamed live on the news and Internet.
