In a bizarre way, I am actually glad this happened, maybe something good can come out of it (NRA is watching)

I should be crying for the kid but I can't stop shaking my head. Idiots.

These are the people who raised those cops who gunned down that kid.

A 9mm Uzi. With this barrel length, maybe 500 ft-lbs of energy max with 9mm +P

Available actually in your friendly Swiss neighborhood, a 50 BMG. Muzzle energy of around 14,100 ft-lbs. For Americans, you can always purchase a Barrett M107A1 that will fire 10 rounds semi-auto. Of course, with that much energy you won't need to fire many rounds. Just ask the recipients to form a line. Not recommended for most, including children of any age.

More lives ruined by America's gun culture.

The pro-gun rednecks are so crazed with their extreme ideology that they have completely abandoned common sense. In Red-State land, it makes perfect sense to give a machine gun to a 9-year old child and film it with your iPhone as she blows away her instructor.
The shooting range admitted to the media that children as young as 5 are given weapons and allowed to shoot there. Which somehow is legal, thanks to Republican lawmakers who are scared of the NRA.
All of the above should be sitting in prison, so that decent people can be kept safe from the nuts.

There was a kid around here who died when he was at a range and was firing an automatic weapon and the recoil killed him.

    Don't give kids fucking guns.

Add: Oh wait, it was in Massachusetts.

When I was a kid the mere placing of such weapons in the hands of children would have landed you in jail. But as you say, Republican and their NRA terrorist backers have changed all that, with these results.

Yet at the same time Republicans won't let students in school know what a condom is, or have access to one, because that's FAR more dangerous than an Uzi submachine gun. icon_rolleyes.gif

    Guns don’t kill people.
Nine-year-old girls with ponytails and pink shorts on summer vacation do.

Stop being ridiculous and get informed.

While this is a tragedy for both of the families involved. Anyone with half conscience should be sorry for the families involved, without justification.

The reality of the situation is that it is very difficult to get a permit to own an automatic weapon in the U.S., and even harder to get ones hands on one once you are able to get a permit. So this is a rare event, even in "Red-State land" or any other land in this country.

By your logic, anyone who has an car accident, for whatever reason "should be sitting in prison". It's a good thing that , so far, uninformed reactionary "nuts" like you don't have the power to decide for the rest of us what our individual situations warrant.

You don't sound very credible when you know nothing about guns, the NRA or "America"s gun culture".

Do you know the difference between an automatic weapon and and a semi-automatic weapon?
What you have just done is irresponsible fearmongering.
As I've pointed out automatic weapons are extremely difficult to get and by repeating what you did without being sure of what you are saying , you are just passing on misinformation.

This is grossly irresponsible and negligence at best. Everybody knows that when teaching a 9-year-old how to shoot an automatic weapon, you stand behind them. icon_rolleyes.gif In the meantime, I'll be praying for all parties involved.

    1) The parents are probably too stupid to sue the gun range
    2) The parents themselves are to blame, endangerment
    3) The gun range and its policy allow stupid parents to allow children to handle firearms
    4) The gun range, run by NRA members, republican, tea party gun nuts are to blame, endangerment
    5) No one will be charged with any crime, dumb shit instructor and her parents got what he/they deserved
    6) Girl will be emotionally scarred for life, she will grow up resenting her parents, "why did you let me"

    Endangerment
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Endangerment

In US law, endangerment comprises several types of crimes involving conduct that is wrongful and reckless or wanton, and likely to produce death or grievous bodily harm to another person. In some states, such as Florida, substantially similar language is used for the crime of "Culpable Negligence."

Child endangerment: placing a child in a potentially harmful situation, either through negligence or misconduct

It just amazes me, parents can be charged with endangerment when they leave a kid in a hot car or alone in a home by themselves but perfectly fine to let them handle firearms only due to someone else's agenda, fucked up world indeed icon_confused.gif
