    Fucking disgraceful.

Love God by all means - but loving a deity more than your child to the extent that these are the ideas that you vomit out is quite frankly sickening...

And then allowing your ideology to overcome you to the extent that you exert violence onto your own child...

Some people just shouldn't be allowed to procreate.

    Warning: tough watch.

Imagine being called "you're a disgrace" repeatedly by people that matter most to you. That part almost moved me to tears. icon_cry.gificon_cry.gif I truly wish this were dramatized but I know it's not.

I hope he found a safe place to go. Any follow-up on this?

Over fifteen hundred people have donated over $42,000 to Daniel. I do hope his parents learn about this.

    Go to http://www.thenewcivilrightsmovement.com/here_s_the_story_behind_the_young_son_who_recorded_the_secret_coming_out_viral_video

The "ending" isn't that bad, and although the parents deserve to have a cement trucked backed over them slowly, the amount of support has been outstanding, which must go some way toward rebuilding. I just hope the parents get to see how much he has been supported.

Committing sin in the name of heaven is just lack of introspection and gives us the idea of how derailed their beliefs and opinions about god and truth.
It's a sin to call another human being 'sin'

I wonder what other people who are in the same position as he was in and the world knows nothing about their sufferings, humiliation and courage are dealing.
    PEACE.

This has Southern Baptist all over it.

It does my heart good to read all the comments.

I just know the same family members will come crawling back wanting money.
Just bet they are already seeking legal action to get their share.

The mother's a bit tough to read because, well, she's a screaming banshee. But what I find curious is that you can almost hear love in the father's voice. You have to filter away the words a bit and the situation and just listen to the tone of the voice. But he's conflicted by religion, upbringing, peer pressure and his perception of having been embarrassed by his son, not even so much by his son being gay, though he scapegoats that, but by whatever his son publicly said about him being racist, being not a very good man, when he thinks he's doing such a good job of supporting his family.

On first listen, my jaw dropped and I covered my mouth in horror that any of us should ever experience that. But I think all is not lost there. These are people who don't know any better. If it's any consolation, outside of murdering their own, they can't go down from there. I actually think from listening that at least the father will come around one day and I think that will bring the mother around, that the mother was protecting her husband.'

    Wow. What a brutal scene.

Yeah at first I was hugely shocked and it is still shocking but afterwards I got the impression there was more to the story between the father and his son. It's still totally wrong though but it sounded to me like both sides were hurting so like you I do think they may well reconcile in the future.

just a typical homophobic family with no love, but I do not think the fact he is gay played the key role, lack of love and relationship between the son and the family is more important factor why this situation is the way it is
