Extremist muslims are indeed a dangerous group of people.

But please do not perpetuate the amalgam between muslims and terrorists.

No, but I have seen a gay-accepting and tolerant muslim...who surprise-surprise loathed "muslim countries".

Look, the muslim community around the world still has a long way to go in terms of tolerance and acceptance.

But do not mix things up. Fundamentalist Islam is a whole other thing that has nothing to do with the way most muslims view their religion.

I come from a muslim country (Morocco), we were struck by a terrorist attack in May 2003 and it was a national tragedy. I hope you know that most muslims fear fundamentalists just as much as the rest of the world.

Of course, you can choose to remain in your bubble, refuse to see that the world is complex, and put all muslims in the same box.

But be aware that by having that attitude, you're creating a stereotype that reinforces the stigma against muslims around the world, and contributing to the same culture of intolerance that has caused all other minorities to be persecuted/discriminated against/disrespected throughout history.

I dont mind if muslims blow each other up, and kill other muslim gays etc. but when they begin to impose their laws on others we have a problem. they have defined their own stereotypes:

I don't see understand how you can disagree with me.

I am not trying to defend muslim countries' anti-gay policies, I am not even defending Islam as a religion.

The only thing I'm saying is that muslims around the world deserve to be treated with respect and dignity, and shouldn't have to pay the price for the crimes of a small group of psychopaths ( fundamentalists ), whose perception of Islam is completely different from that of an average muslim.

and YES they are a minority in Europe in America and YES I do face racism as a Moroccan living in France ( even though I have completely dissociated with my muslim upbringing and no longer identify as a muslim )

Now if you don't want to get into the rights and wrongs of Islam as a political and social system, that's ANOTHER debate.

But that does not give you an excuse to have a condescending attitude towards all muslims just because you were brought up in the western world.

And by the way, muslim countries aren't the only ones who discriminate against homosexuals? Most African countries do.

Whould you treat a Nigerian with less respect bc his/her government bans homosexuality ?

If the answer is YES, maybe you should question your morals ...

That's nice, I can remember another guy who said that about another religious group. Starts with an H, ends with an R, can you guess ?

I am totally against racism, and if you refer to ex-muslims, I hold them in high regard.

Yes, I will be condescending (and luckily that'S all) to muslims due to their disgusting beliefs. I have also stated in the forums I dislike religious jews (i'm ok with ex-jews, atheist-jews), and find them annoying as hell, and their religion just as vile.

I agree with you 100%. The whole world remains in violent turmoil thanks to the endless support of ancient fairy tales known as religious beliefs.

Not all muslims are terrorists and killers. I have muslim friends who are tolerant and respectful of everyone. Damning everyone of a certain religion or race is intolerant, bigoted, and just plain wrong. I guess it depends on whether it's PC or not.
