Much less possible in the US nowadays. Was once fairly common for same-sex swimming of men or boys, even mandatory in some schools for male-only swim classes, and in many YMCAs before they went coed. We also had organized outdoor skinny dipping at boys summer camp, but most have gone coed, too, or lost the remote privacy that made it possible over 50 years ago. Plus boys and their parents would object to it today.

I enjoy it myself, more often swim nude than with a suit, mostly at gay male guest houses and at friends' private pools. There's also a legal nude beach with lifeguards not too far away I'll visit.

But I don't enjoy swimming in the ocean surf that much anymore, and the beach is public and open to women and even clothed voyeurs who come along. An informal men's gay section helps a little. Not that I'm bothered by naked women seeing me, but I'd rather not see THEIR bodies. And the clothed gawkers are annoying, even insulting, and I and others have had words with some of them.

This is an awesome experience! More people need to try it actually. Their stress levels in normal life would probably be reduced.

Love it. I might even be addicted since I tend to plan trips around the availability of a nude beach or not?

I also find places where there is a nude beach usually has more liberal/accepting people in general, and I'd prefer to patronize non-haters if I can.

Sure, I love it. Not many places around here where I can but there is one quiet beach on the bay side of the barrier islands that I can swim by the boat and walk on the beach naked. Later in the afternoon after the tourists have returned the rental boats. Feels great.

Update: Sunday afternoon over dinner our friends invited us to use their swimming pool when we want, naked of course. It could have happened right then, but a moment later other friends phoned inviting us all to join them for evening drinks at a gay place, and that's how our day ended. But we'll take that swimming offer soon.

This other couple has got a pool, too, BTW, that I've used nude. We've got a pool, as well, but it's not possible to use it suitless. It's one of the reasons I've never used it in over 7 years living here.

And then Monday the owner of a clothing optional gay resort got me on my cell, another friend of ours. He said he wants to see more of us (wasn't sure how to take that). I replied great, we love going there, let's make it happen.

Next day his hotel manager emailed me with an offer of $99 a night, for a suite, with full kitchen, that ordinarily goes for upwards of $400, depending on season. Of course I said yes, and we'll talk dates shortly. Our calendar is really booked, with 2 trips between now and December, one our big annual SMART Ride on the bicycles. I think we may be able to do something in early October.

And all those destinations will be clothing optional, too. Neither of us wear swimsuits anymore. You'll see no tan lines on us, except a "Florida" tan of forearms & calfs, from our always wearing shorts & T-shirts.

    Oh, the perils of popularity!

    And the rewards of righteousness!

Meanwhile, you should avoid the evils of envy.

The real story here, and in many of my stories that you knock, is that 2 guys like us with very few resources can have relatively rich lives. We know how to network and connect, how to do favors and get favors. It's almost like being in a barter economy. We get nothing for free; rather we earn lots for what we do for others. Both in tangible things and in satisfaction.

I read so many guys here who bemoan their dull lives, and that they can't afford things. We have less money than many guys here, yet I suspect we manage to live better than many. At least in the simple ways that please us. Not extravagant, not luxurious, but we're always smiling & happy. Like when we swim naked at no cost, while others spend tons of money on stylish swim suits every season. ;)

I agree with you dude. Most people will never experience this in their lives, but I'm an artist and I have been to a nude beach and been like everyone else there. It is the most freeing awesome experience with nature. It's really a shame how most people will never experience such a liberating thing.
