Ya. Great animal rights advocate. And a fun old bird herself. I don't know much about her younger days, pre-MTM.

    It's satire.

    Betty White is Dead icon_sad.gif

That broke my heart when I read it. But Betty White is NOT dead. The spoof article suggests she "dyes" her hair peacefully at home.

    Not really very funny.

Ya, that is not cool. I tried but couldn't get the link to open. All I saw was that Betty white is dead and a sad face. Not funny.

Well, that was kind of mean, I just read the title, and decided to comment, but then read the article.

The link can take a long time to open, but eventually does. I guess something like this has it overloaded.

And it talks about the different hair colors Betty White has dyed her hair. Really stupid.

Yes, I saw a shop by that name in Las Vegas. For a while after that, I started cutting out ads from alternative newspapers for companies with strange or funny names. Can't find them any more.

I was amazed to learn that she'd been married to Allen Ludden. I only knew him as the host on the tv game show Password. He was rather dry and humorless, whereas Betty White always had lots of verve and sparkle. Seemed like an odd match.

Betty White was the most frequent celebrity contestant on "Password". (Plus not too bad at it, and guilessly funny) Now you know why she got so much air time. And I remember when they were married. Ludden courted her during the show's run.

In show business the "on-stage" personality is often not the same as the off-stage. But whatever the attraction was between them, they did get married. Sadly, his cancer death ended their union.

It wasn't meant to be funny. It was presented as a real news story so I believed it too. I love Betty White and would never post something like that as a "joke."

Sorry, I wasn't clear. The joke in bad taste was that stupid misleading article about Betty White dyeing her hair. Your own shortcoming was in creating a false headline based on it. Whether through misinterpretation or intent.

Although knowing your stuff over the years, I find it hard to believe by deliberate intent, as you're now confirming. But I suppose I shouldn't cast stones, I've misread stuff here and elsewhere online myself.

The important thing is that Betty White is not dead. We can all smile about that. icon_biggrin.gif

The article was obviously a spoof. Even the headline made that clear. The web site is a The Onion wannabe.
