I live at the beach, so shirtless and commando is my natural state. Around the house I seldom wear anything more than a pair of board shorts or loose workout shorts, and sometimes less.
Also since I live at the beach, my neighbors' houses on three sides are literally six feet from mine, and some of our windows line up. My one neighbor's dining room looks right into my bedroom, and another neighbor's bedroom looks down into my bathroom (I can't see anything but their ceiling, but they could look in and see me stepping out of the shower).
I never close the blinds during the day, unless I have a friend over for some indoor activities. It's my house. I'm not going to hide behind closed blinds just to change clothes. I do close the bedroom blinds at night just because it would be rather blatant otherwise; I sleep naked.
Everyone here at the beach is in roughly the same situation. We respect each other's right to live without having to hide, and we respect each other's privacy by not staring (we've all had glimpses of each other now and then).
I will say though, the night after I blew out a lumbar disk and had to "sleep" propped upright on the couch... and my new, hot, recently divorced neighbor celebrated his newfound liberty by strutting around the apartment naked all evening with the blinds wide open... was one of the greatest times I ever spent here. Well anyway, it dulled the pain a bit...
