I'm working on the second edition of my book, The Greatest Bible Study in Historical Accuracy.

I'm pulling some quotes together which speak to both Paul and Josephus needing to tell their audiences they write the truth.

Then I came across this website where Paul is simply blasted for not being good for Christianity.

I speak the truth in Christ, I do not lie; my conscience joins with the holy Spirit in bearing me witness
that I have great sorrow and constant anguish in my heart..

An Authentic Letter of Paul the Apostle to the Romans, 9: 1-2

True, I was born guilty, a sinner, even as my mother conceived me.
Still, you insist on sincerity of heart; in my inmost being teach me wisdom.
Cleanse me with hyssop, that I may be pure; wash me, make me whiter than snow.

I said in my alarm, ‘No one can be trusted!’

    Psalms 51: 7-9; 116, 11

Paul goes on to speak from this mindset.

What difference does it make, as long as in every way, whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is being proclaimed? And in that I rejoice. Indeed, I shall continue to rejoice,

for I know that this will result in deliverance for me through your prayers and support from the Spirit of Jesus Christ.

My eager expectation and hope is that I shall not be put to shame in any way, but that with all boldness, now as always, Christ will be magnified in my body, whether by life or by death.

An Authentic Letter of Paul the Apostle to the Philippians, 1: 18-20

What difference does pretense or truth make?!

You'll use any means to justify the end of Christ Jesus being glorified.

Jesus can stand on his own merit.

But you say, that's what's happening with the Church of Jerusalem with Peter and James but the Church of Rome will hype Jesus so Jesus can stick.

Paul references the arguable outlook on life above (and also at Romans 3: 3-20) that every human being is a liar and no one is just.

One thing that makes this arguable is Jesus speaking at Mark 2: 17, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”
