"Condoleezza Rice made a startling admission to the New York Times in 2002. The then-national security adviser to President George W. Bush said it was “absolutely right” that she wanted to be commissioner of the National Football League. This was no joke. Rice was serious, but she wanted it to be known that she wouldn’t want to do it “before Paul Tagliabue is ready to step down.”

Well, Tagliabue is long gone and his successor Roger Goodell has made a mess of it. Time for the former secretary of state with an intense love of the game to step in and save the NFL."

Give her a chance, I say. She's done well in every other position she's held. I like her being on the NCAA Bowl Championship Selection Committee, too.

Did she ever find the mushroom cloud she said was threatening the US? Remember? That was her reason why we should invade Iraq and kill 3,000 American guys (more than Osama!), maim another 30,000, hand power in the region over to Iran, destabilize Syria, and spend $billions doing it.

Yes, she did real well in Iraq and preventing 9/11. Which by the way they were told was coming by Clinton holdover, and ignored the warning. Ya, she is a real winner. I wonder how many people have died, and are still dying, as a result of her decisions with Bush, Cheney and the rest of the group.
    Just what the NFL needs.

Like I say, give her a chance. Cf., like the left would say, "why do you hate successful women of color?" That way you can blame the helmet controversy on her too. Sheesh!

This seems like a relatively harmless way for Republicans to keep themselves busy.

Maybe Condi could find a nice do-nothing job for Mitch McConnell.

I think she'd have a great spot for her on the gallows at The Hague with the rest of her kin in past and present administrations, made up almost exclusively of horrific war criminals. These people deserve nothing more than justice for the millions of deaths of their hands.

And yes, the Iraq war and occupation killed thousands of Americans, but more importantly, it killed over a MILLION Iraqis and sparked a regional war for hegemony between one of the most horrific states in the world, Saudi Arabia (a very close US "ally") and a relatively oppressive society (the US state-designated "enemy" of Iran), which has led to coups, civil wars and a large arms race and the creation of ISIS and regional destabilization and hundreds of thousands of more deaths.

Yeah, she did such a "great job" as National [In]Security Adviser and Secretary of State crimes against humanity. To The Hague.

Luckily for the US, they have a very quiet little agreement with the Netherlands (Google this shit, it's real), where if a US citizen were ever to be tried at The Hague, the United States military could INVADE the Netherlands to rescue the criminal. Looks like Condi will be fine, after all.

    And so, what of justice?
