    St. Maarten.

Because 1) it's the only one I've been to, and 2)a bunch of us used to go to club Orient every year after ski season and hang out nude for a week - the most relaxing and quiet vacations I've ever had.

Same on the island. I thought it was clean (the tourist areas) and for the most part, people were friendly. Had lots of fun touring the island. The islands I didn't like: Bahamas and Jamaica. Both are dumps!

St Barts is beautiful but expensive, Antigua is awesome - but there's also a ton of cool smaller islands like Petite St Vincent, etc

Puerto Rico is very affordable for a vacation and you'll find flights cheap/easy too.
We love Cabo Rojo on the west end of the Isle.
Vieques to the east is gorgeous.

More expensive but wonderful is Tortola,British Virgin Islands and it's easy to get there, especially starting in St.Thomas.

Montserrat is magical but certainly more expensive.

Barbados, wonderful beaches. We visit at least twice per year
Anguilla: arguably the best beaches in the world.

Been to several of them and hands down it's CUBA. Nothing comes close. Amazing beaches and amazing people (yes, they hate the govt as well).
Very gay welcoming. If it wasn't for that stupid embargo. Buy a $20 paper visa at the Cancun airport and take the 1 hour flight to Havana. Your passport will not be stamped. So no record of your having been there.
Say good bye to all the commercialism everywhere else and enter a different world.

    Some of my favorites:

Antigua - breathtaking views, lush island, similar to Hawaii in terms of lushness and tropical. Loved the tropical fruit - bananas, grapefruit, the way nature intended it not like the GMO stuff we eat.

Barbados-breathtaking beaches, James Coast amazing, and have family there.

St. Maarten-best rum ever, although Barbados comes 2nd best. Although the mixture of the Dutch culture is great.

Best airport runway...where else can you see a 747- up close and wearing a bathing suit at Maho Beachicon_biggrin.gif, not to mention jetblast.

    st-maarten-landing.jpg

US Virgin Islands (St. John) for its beaches, and wonderful tropical lush surroundings.

Been to that beach 2 times already. Just don't do while 8 cruise ships are in port... That whole area is standing room only..

My sister lived on St Thomas USVI in a beautiful house overlooking a private beach on Magen's Bay, which was awfully nice to visit. I enjoyed the other islands like St Johns and Dt Croix as they were quieter places to visit; in the British VI-I like Tortola, Virgin Gorda. I prefer mountainous islands instead of flat ones, like the Bahamas, Cayman...better views.

I liked when I visited Jamaica, it was fun. Dominican Republic was an awesome experience. But Cuba is definitely the best! However I must admit I'm a little partial because mi madre es Cubana. But, I like any island. They are awesome.
