"Walk into many cafes and you'll find people behind the counter in funky dress and adorned with tattoos. Head to a Starbucks, though, and the baristas wear button-down shirts, often with long sleeves rolled down. There's a good chance that skin art lives under the cloth."

I didn't realize that Starbucks had a 'no visible tattoos' policy.

How about at your job; Can you show your tats?

If you're self-employed, do you expose your tats to your clients?

Never before gave it a thought but on reflection, in all my years working corporate for a multinational, I don't recall ever having seen a tattoo.

Yes I can show my tattoos. Ad long as they aren't of like a naked person or something most normal people would find offensive. My bosses are pretty cool and didn't even make mention when my tats started appearing upon my return from my last vacation.

I don't have any , and it is a good thing as airline stewards have to keep them out of sight . We have short sleeves summer's uniform , so forget about getting some on your fore-arms ...icon_smile.gif

I don't have any... But i work at a shirt and tie kind of place anyway..

Casual fridays in the warmer weather, we have two guys whose shoulder tribals peek under their polo sleeves, and it was never an issue.

We did have an intern once who had some sort of "fuck the establishment" tat between his wrist and elbow.. He was asked to keep it covered... And he did as he was told... Oh so ironic.

    My last LTR had 42.

We were together for 14 years.

My mother offered to have him shot.

She actually can have a man shot and get away with it.

No, I do NOT have a point.

I don't have tattoos but quite a lot of shops I visit don't mind if people have tattoos as long as they aren't too obscene. At least my guess anyway because most of the tattoos I've seen were pretty tame. I only met one person who had a naked lady tattoo on her arm and she had to cover it up.

No visible tattoos allowed at the hotel. The only exception I know of is for kitchen staff who do not work in sight of the guests.

To have visible tattoos/body mods is a liability in the corporate world.

I have 8 thus far, more to come (started with just 1 last December). my arm band ink comes just above the cuff of my short sleeve uniform shirt. (cabin crew here too) though I cannot have arm ink, the rest of the body is a canvas. and I fully intend to take advantage of the blank spaces. cannot wait to get more ink!

When I worked at disney there was a strict no tat policy . If ypu showed your tats mickey would tap you on the shoulder and ask you to follow him . Then theyd physically remove it with a cheese grater lol( or so Im told). I think they just make you go home and get a longer shirt . I do know personally that if you have a 5 oclock shadow they have shaving kits available and you must shave immediately . icon_cool.gif

I could with my job. I'm a tour guide. But at the same time, appearance is such a huge factor when dealing with people. Some people don't trust people with Tattoos, and i rather not set people off for no good reason. I would most likely hide a tattoo if I had any.

I have a handful of tats and 1 visible on the side of my neck. I'm self employed hair stylist and rent my chair. I can do as I please, but I like to dress up and roll my sleeves up to give me a look.
