Not sure what you mean by kid shows but when I was a kid there were certain shows that had kids about my age in them... My favorites were these:

    Growing Pains
    Facts of Life
    Silver Spoons

I know there were more I just can't think of them right now.

I watch a massive quantity of Anime, both teen-oriented as well as the more grown-up cerebral stuff (GITS, WHR, E7)

Adventure Time is surreal and sometimes shockingly deep!

Adventure time is one of the best shows on television. No kidding. Some of it is some deeply moving shit, surprisingly.

Recently downloaded As told by ginger, a cartoon about a ginger teen that gives the best life advice for teenagers. I actually downloaded it because it was so insightfull back then

Phill of the future was the best. And even as a kid, i wanted to lick Phils face... Right into the future

Lets not forget David Henrie aka Justin from Wizards of waverly place!

I've continued to watch tons of animated shows in my 30s. Legend of Korra, the Last Airbender, Simpsons, Family Guy, South Park, etc. Since I've moved back to Toronto, I'm watching tons of old shows on Teletoon Retro (it's quite nostalgic).
