I was thinking about this on the commute home from work tonight. I find it amazing that with the scientific advancements we've had, especially in the last 15 years, that science has not created a pill you can take that will just gobble up all the excess body fat and leave you lean.
Or maybe the technology already exists to create that but it's being held back. I'm sure the diet industry is a very powerful force to be reckoned with. Here are some stats I just googled:

Marketdata Enterprises Inc. estimates that the total U.S. weight loss market grew just 1.7% in 2012, as most market segments were flat or marginally up. Revenues were $61.6 billion in 2012, and $60.6 billion in 2011, (up 3.8% from $58.4 billion in 2010). Revenues are forecast to grow 2.6% in 2013.

Unless you're trying to destroy something like a cancer, or prevent something like Alzheimer's, I wouldn't think you'd want to fuck with your system at the cellular level for something controllable at the bite size.

The average persons lack of discipline doesn't mean there is a conspiracy to keep something like that off the market.

I wouldn't suggest anyone use this but DNP is an illegal drug that will get rid of body fat really fast. Not sure what all the health risks and everything are but unless your seriously into bodybuilding I wouldn't even look into it.

As long as there are lazy people, there will be diet pills.
