In the U.S. marriage was included in the tax system because of Christianity. That is what our roots came from. If you don't believe in Christianity and you are NOT looking for a tax break than what the fuck do you need it for? Are you trying to make some political point? Don't let sex in politics become what has become the same confusion with lust and love in this world also. Marriage is a SPIRITUAL THING. It doesn't matter how you do it, it is just the uniting of two spirits. It is a PROMISE YOU KEEP. It needs no paperwork nor needs no political presence it is within your soul. STOP THIS FUCKING desire to raid the tax system. It is in place for a reason beyond our understanding and if you believe in marriage then you will believe this:

""I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."

Marriage is NOT just some THING that takes place to convince yourselves that the spirit does not exist. It is there IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM to show you that the spirit DOES in fact exist.

In the USA, native Americans had gay marriage before Europeans arrived.

I've tried to be understanding of some of the things you've recently posted, and I know you're going through a lot, but I think you *know* that a number of men here have been denied their loved ones' final moments due to a a lack of legal recognition of gay marriage.

    Not cool.

I am sorry, I didn't think about that. Yes, I did see a video recently on exactly what you are talking about. Forgive me and this post but I know my conscience is somewhere in these words.

Things get nasty around here, and I know it's selfish of me to focus on what I learn from others' trials when I have it so easy, but I am glad for whatever understandings do emerge on these forums. For me it usually does make it worth wading through the rest.

Christianity has nothing to do with Marriage tax breaks. You can't equate crooked legal government practices to anything in religion. People use false claims in the name of religion all the time, but the truth is that God wants nothing to do with them. Render therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's.

Praise you I do understand. There are times I have stepped outside myself and ONE NATION UNDER GOD seems pretty straight out to me. You don't HAVE to believe in God to get married but to save you ALL the time in the process THAT IS the end of the journey.

Why cant we just simply have a base line of marriage being purely a legal instrument like the way Napoleon had, then if you are religious you can add that aspect to it.

I respect your concern but I don't force religion upon anyone because I have no religion. LOL
