OK, so Birmingham is the UK's second city, but it does seem to get a lot of flack. It's busy, quite grey in places and the accent is weird, but I love it.

It's great for shopping, as there's like hundreds of shops and department stores.

Selfridges Builing (a giant shopping mall)

Brindleyplace - this is a really nice little area of the city. Lots of restaurants and cocktail bars. I love chilling here sometimes

The city has quite a few squares and open areas which are packed on summer days. I love to grab a coffee and hang with friends here (Victoria Square):

I thought that Selfridges was in London. I've been watching the BBC series on Mr. Selfridge and his department store.

lol at the psycho throwing shit to random users on Youtube. Also your music taste is what my pre-teenage niece listen to: Madona, Selena Gomez, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Abirl Lavigne, really? Are you a guy or a 12 years old girl?! icon_lol.gif

This is actually too funny, im gonna quote some of the rants of the psycho:

"like who gives a shit about that fat ugly pig Demi? seriously, she is pathetic, a good role model for teenage losers to cut their wrists and listen to whiny songs like skyscraper and eat like pigs and have an excuse for being shitty"

"go die of cancer with your spam ugly bitch "

    icon_lol.gificon_lol.gificon_lol.gif
you always make my day psycho.

I live right in the center of beautiful Miami Beach, FL. Lincoln Road is a 10 minute walk north, the beach is 5 blocks west, and South Pointe Park (pictured below) is another 5 blocks south.

Most people picture South Beach as this crazy, superficial tourist trap, which it can be, but there is a whole other side to the hood. Outside the tourist zones of Lincoln Road and Ocean Drive, is a real life breathing city. I feel at home 24/7 walking the streets here. I have never felt unsafe. South Beach is arugably the most gay area of South Florida. There's Ft. Lauderdale, home to RJ's own local celebrity Art Deco, but it's a more older, quieter crowd than Miami. You aren't going to find a big city like this next to such beautiful beaches like you will in Miami Beach.

Some snapshots I took, from another sailboat. We'll be down to Key West again next week, about 4 hours drive from where we live. Probably take another sunset cruise like this:

    P1020783-Version2_zps29d9aa46.jpg

Where we often stop for lunch, on our way to Key West. paulflexes was kind enough to fly over in his plane, and snap this pic of where we eat, on the Gulf of Mexico side of Islamorada Key:

Visited Birmingham a few years back. I think there was a giant bull? Have a distinct memory of me pulling the "acting the twat by mounting it at 3 in the morning" photo. So sorry to be "that" tourist.

Where I live? I have a river, fields, very few people, and the capital is only a little over an hour away. So that's perfect for me.

Still my favorite city of all!

    0BysrqbBayY6FMFdleWp6bVRRSjQ

The Bay Bridge and downtown San Francisco from Yerba Buena Island.
(My dad worked on a crew on the opening day of construction of this bridge, setting blasting charges on the Island for the tunnel.)

    0BysrqbBayY6Fcm0welZua01YemM

The interior of the War Memorial Opera House, where after the curtain rose, I've spent many delightful hours as did my mother before I was born.
