I get that. I'm not into girls but all I really look for in a guy is that he is into guys. Non-straight.

And to me, European white dude, African-American sounds really weird when European-Americans get called Americans all the time, but I respect people's prerogative to label their identity as they wish.

EDIT: Those sentences are terribly convoluted but I don't think I can do any better right now.

You just gave that nail a headache right there! In high school I got spoken to because I kept referring to all the white students as European-Americans, along with only ever putting American about myself. ;-) She is definitely going to get some negative feedback, but people should be able to self identify however they want.

Yes, she can identify how she wants, but she has no right to demand that others identify her according to her wishes.

She's getting bashed because she doesn't conform to all these retarded labels. I've always been the same way. A few weeks ago I was hanging out with a new friend of mine I've been kayaking with when he ask me if I thought a girl leaning against her car was hot. I said "I'm really not into women." He said "oh, are you gay?" And I responded the way I always do...."I don't label myself that way but I'm not attracted to women." All these stupid race threads could be done away with if only everyone would stop using these restrictive labels. They're limited and dehumanizing.

I actually do identify as gay but I would never use the Danish word "bøsse" to describe myself (but I would use "homo"). Excessively complicated, I know. But I would hate if a guy stopped himself from pursuing a guy because it was the only guy he liked ("I'm not gay so I can't be in love with this guy").

Honestly i am unsure and really don't like this perception of people treading on 'greyness'. Lately people hate labels and i don't see it as labels but rather as difference and i think acknowledging and realizing difference can lead to acceptance. If anything I want to belong to that 'gay box' and being defined as human is another dimension altogether. I feel like I am waffling here but I know what I wanna say in my head... i just want boxes to be there so difference is highlighted which can lead to acceptance. those are my three constituents labels, difference, acceptance

I know where you're coming from and part of me agrees with you, however people can be very simply minded and they tend to form ideas about these labels which may or may not apply to me.

This issue touches a lot actually, I think I would be labeled as masculine too but as I always maintain I am comfortable belonging to the label. I don't understand how that can be limiting and dehumanizing perhaps I need education from a person that holds that stance. It truly baffles me but then again the human psyche is quite astonishing

Fuck off you stupid queen. Member since yesterday huh? Oh now who could you be? Any chick on the street is more masculine than you. Shouldn't you be slitting your wrists or something?

I don't believe in labels either. I believe in barcodes:

If I were going to do that I'd rather have a QR code tattoo; with it you can encode the url to your web page. There are probably many people with QR code tattoos already.

Label? Or a word describing a sexual orientation?

Try this exercise. Ask someone to go to the store for you for apples. Don't say apples (eek! a label!), instead say 'some round things', and see what they bring you.
