"Straight Catholics urge Pope to welcome gay couples"

What do they mean by welcome? All are welcome into the fold the Church is made of saints and sinners. The Church welcomes them all. However, like it or not, the Church has beliefs and is responsible for teaching those beliefs to its members. So if you happen to be gay and find yourself in a pew one Sunday morning (I assume you went there on your own volition) and padre starts expounding on the Church's teaching on homosexuality to the congregation, expect to feel uncomfortable. The Church's teaching on homosexuality is well known; it's no secret.

You are more than welcome. The Church wants and expects sinners in her membership for it is Her mission to see that you attain eternal salvation as She understands it. If your understanding is different and you are offended by it - DON'T GO. Or go knowing that you may be be offended sometimes but you are working towards changing the Church's idea of gay people. The Church is made up of people and its people who become priests, nuns, bishops, and yes even popes. As our people change, the Church will change. Witness the new pope and his statements on his unworthiness to judge.

Here's what they're still up against.

"Voice of the Family" says: Keep Your Kids Away From Gay Family Members

    http://www.goodasyou.org/good_as_you/2014/10/cardinal-burke-parents-should-shield-kids-from-gay-family-members.html

Cardinal Raymond Burke“If homosexual relations are intrinsically disordered, which indeed they are — reason teaches us that and also our faith — then, what would it mean to grandchildren to have present at a family gathering a family member who is living [in] a disordered relationship with another person?”..."We wouldn’t, if it were another kind of relationship — something that was profoundly disordered and harmful — we wouldn't expose our children to that relationship, to the direct experience of it. And neither should we do it in the context of a family member who not only suffers from same-sex attraction, but who has chosen to live out that attraction, to act upon it, committing acts which are always and everywhere wrong, evil.

    Yes, it's 2014, A.D. icon_lol.gif

The former Archbishop of St. Louis, Burke now poses as the Cardinal Prefect of the Supreme Tribunal of the Apostolic Signatura. And happy birthday to you, by the time you finished reading whatever the heck that title is. icon_razz.gif
