hey - my partner and i (see my current main pic with the ivy and vines) are looking to take our dances on the road. do you know of any spaces in your area that we could use? does your community participate in theater events?

let me know if you think there'd be interest in your area for what we do:

"path" is a post-modern, multimedia deconstruction of "little red riding hood." the wolf gradually siphons off all of red's innocence (he becomes a little boy lost in the woods, she is left a hag). in return, "oven" sees the witch drain the innocence off hansel (she puts her red cape on and scampers out of granny's house, and hansel is left behind as a scraggly animal-like thing). they feed off each other in a recurring cycle.

"suites for the bittersweet" is a collection of dances set to led zeppelin, and they explore the ways love can become dysfucntional. we've already done the sections for infidelity, codependency, and revenge. still working on futility and obsession/jealousy. they're dances for people who don't have, don't like, or don't want valentines.

It sounds like an awesome concept, dj! I'd see it in a heartbeat - but not sure my area could deal with so much cutting-edge culture. The conservative farmers and truckers would implode.

Then again, maybe that wouldn't be such a bad idea.

You should look into Single Cell productions. From the look of you pic you might fit into their style of shows.

There are a ton of theatres here in Philadelphia. The Arts Garage would be an awesome place for a concept like this. The Painted Bride and The Annenburg Center would be great too.

    DANCERS GOTTA REP ON RJ!
