Sweet Home Alabama! Where the Skies Are Blue! Sweet Home Alabama! Lord, I'm Coming with HIV!

TheWeekA pastor in Alabama is refusing to step down after confessing to having AIDS, sleeping with church members without telling them about his HIV infection, taking drugs, and misusing funds.

Rev. Juan Demetrius McFarland has been at Montgomery's Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church for 21 years. In Sunday sermons starting Sept. 14, McFarland admitted his health status, then his misdeeds, the pastor and members of his flock told WSFA 12 News. The church membership voted 80-1 to remove McFarland on Oct. 5, but he will not leave.

A lawyer representing deacons in the church said McFarland and a supporter would not let them on the premises, telling deacons trying to change the locks they would face "castle law" if they tried to come to services.

"They're worried if they show up to church, they could get shot," Kenneth Shinbaum said. "Unless the pastor steps down voluntarily, this may very well end up in court."

McFarland may turn up in court for another reason: In Alabama, spreading a sexually transmitted disease is a Class C misdemeanor; since nobody has filed a complaint, McFarland isn't under investigation at the moment.

The announcement stunned parishioners, who at first were worried about McFarland's health, and then were upset by the rest of his revelations. "Who does this to people, and you are the leader?" one congregation member told WSFA 12 News. "Who does this?"

I'm just going to go out on a limb here and assume Teh Gheyz have been a boogeyman subject from his pulpit for decades.

When did "Castle Law" ever apply to churches? Does Rev. Juan personally own the building? icon_lol.gif

And what's in it for the ONE supporter who has the Rev's back on this?

No one wants to file a complaint because that would out themselves as having "fornicated" with him.

Now you have to ask yourself...

Where's the sense of...!? Oh, my bad, we're talking about self-serving, on the DL, creepin' lyin', bs'in ass preachers who try to wear the Armor while maintaining a double agent status. This doesn't surprise me in the least bit. It makes me realise that the sense of decency, dignity, integrity, loyalty and respect for another human life goes out of the window for another purpose...his own self-fulfilling needs. I can already see what'll happen when he's laid to rest...8 feet under...

It amazes me when I say there's no sense of the aforementioned & I am labeled as bitter or jaded but when maddening shit like this happens, people shouldn't find themselves appalled or shocked in any sense...

    All's well that ends... "well..."

Ousted pastor complies, turns over keys, bank accounts and car

How does Trey Songz sing it? "Keys to the Benz? Keys to the Benz!"

WSFA-TV (Mongtomery, AL)Embattled church pastor Juan McFarland has complied with a judge's order to turn over keys, bank accounts and a Mercedes Benz to Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church officials prior to a 5 p.m. deadline, according to the church's board of trustees chairman.

Montgomery Circuit Court Judge Charles Price ruled against McFarland earlier in the day, telling him in a preliminary injunction hearing to return the property to the church's leadership. In addition to returning the property, the judge barred McFarland from the church's property.

The ousted pastor arrived in the Mercedes around 4 p.m., surrendered it to the church, and drove away in a different Mercedes with an unidentified woman...

Both McFarland and his co-defendant, Marc Peacock, Sr. were being sued by church members who say they voted McFarland out of the church by an 80-1 margin after he admitted from the pulpit to having sexual relations inside the church building - with congregants - while knowingly having AIDS. McFarland has also admitted to drug abuse and misuse of church finances. Still, the pastor has refused to step down.

Peacock was being sued for his alleged role in helping McFarland change the church's locks, bank accounts and threatening to shoot deacons if they returned to the property. During Thursday's hearing, Peacock, Sr., resigned his membership with the church and was removed from the lawsuit.

McFarland had no legal counsel, instead choosing to represent himself. He did not say anything in the courtroom during the morning portion of the hearing...

The lawsuit claimed McFarland passed a new church constitution in 2013 giving himself total control of the church while only a few members were present.
