Isn't this around the anniversary of Matthew Sheppard's murder? What year was that?

I was sworn in as a member of the Bar of the US Supreme Ct. on the first NCOD. It's pretty cool having that date on my certificate of admission.

I came out to 3 people yesterday. Threir reactions were so amazing. One of them actually look proud when I told him. I am now starting to think that people who react badly had no right to know in the first place, neither did their place in one's life should be valued.

To everyone who is still closeted (like myself): have courage!

    Chris Salvatore's Coming Out Story

I think my coming out story would be to embarrassing to make public like that, on you tube. It was awful, my mom cried and thought I would be wearing dresses, my younger sister and I got into a fist fight and all my peer straight friends abandoned me. I never really told my dad, the others told him. I lived like a recluse at least for the first 5 years, then meeting all new people. Although, some have come back including family, after 24 years, I still keep my distance from them, literally I live in a different state. National Coming Out day, by HRC, was only 2 years old at the time. When I did come out, I didn't know anything about a gay community or have any resources. It was like starting a life over again, with new family and friends, quite remarkable that I've made it this far on my own. This was just coming out at 25, it does not include the crap I put up with as a kid and throughout school. I assume this is why I have become a, some what, political beacon for our equality.. throw down, smack down, gloves off.

sorry that you went through that. Hopefully those kinds of things will happen less and less to people as time goes on.
