I love underwear very much and I invest my time on them.....even checking what people have on ha ha ha (been doing my research what people put on). Of late I have been thinking about business ideas and I thought opening up a store specializing in men underwear would be a good idea to give a thorough consideration. Any wild constructive thoughts about such an idea?

    Dressing rooms and live mannequins.

Seriously, what's the point of going to a clothing store if you can't try on the clothing given health regulations when you can buy every conceivable brand of underwear online? Maybe it works for Victoria's Secret because there's a huge market for ladies' lingerie.

The gay underwear store in toronto couldnt stay afloat after the city banned poppers, what is your business plan for a niche market? Women buy 95% of men's underwear.

Think about it like a corner store....hundreds of products for show but 95% of profit is cigarettes. What is your bread and butter in an underwear store? Remember they can't try stuff on due to health restrictions, so you are basically an internet shell...and you wont be able to beat the manufacturer sites.

Your best bet would be a "tupperwear" business model.

I see the one in downtown pdx went out of business. Not sure what the deal is with those places... I assume health regulations prohibit trying them on without buying.

I'm thinking that you need to have live models. (Maybe go-go boys need something to do in the day time?) Serve mimosas and fancy chocolates. Draw in the gay guys and the women "shopping for their husbands." Not to mention the bachelorette parties. Probably need like a $25 cover charge to the show, redeemable toward their purchases.

I'm wondering how many men would go to a store that sold only underwear. I wouldn't.

Renting a store is extremely expensive, and the rent can skyrocket, over the years. I'm thinking that you'd have to charge a prohibitively high price for underwear, and move a lot of it, to cover the rent and utilities, as well as paying the salary of one or more employees.

Every kind of underwear imaginable is available on line.

Not trying to put a damper on your dream; just being realistic.

Im not gonna buy something that touched the balls of another guy. You let people try the underwear and i wont buy there, as simple as that.

This here. If you want this to succeed, you need to come up with some designs or styles that would set you apart from the competition. Try to brainstorm some ideas of your own to make some underwear because if it's generic like any you could find at a local store, you may not have much luck,

So first things first, brainstorm ideas of patterns, styles, etc.
