Anyone live in NYC. . . and have trouble with Time Warner Cable?

I've had endless problems. Last year, the cable was out constantly, sometimes lasting hours or days.

I moved to a new building six weeks ago. . . and same thing. Turn on the set, no picture, no sound. This happens every few days.

Sometimes the service outage is for the whole area. Sometimes, it's just my connection, and the cable box has to be re-set. . . a twenty-minute process. The remote doesn't work very well either.

I've been on the phone to Time Warner dozens of times. I've had technicians come out. They never fix anything. Their default is to replace the cable box. I've yet to get a box that works.

Since Time Warner holds a monopoly on NYC, I'm stuck. It's them or cut off the service. For the first time in my life, I may go without TV.

Anyone else in NYC have these issues?

If your internet is working fine, then drop the TV service from your TWC package. All the popular shows get eventually released to Netflix or Amazon Prime or home video.

True, and thanks for the suggestion. . . but I like watching news (evening network news, CNN). . . and I don't think I can get that online.
