Got back to Wilton Manors yesterday (Thu), picked up my new iPhone 6 that was delivered to a neighbor. Spent last night transferring my old phone to it, and switching my old 5s to my husband (who had a 5, now inactivated). I could do it all myself, and got the phone numbers correct, but it's just so time consuming. icon_razz.gif

The iPhone 6 is lovely, as large a pocketable phone as I would like. I didn't want a 6 Plus.

And I'm not sure I'll uprgrade to the iPad Air 2 that came out yesterday. It's memory remains at 128GB (that I now have on the iPhone 6, along with both our original iPad Airs), and I see few improvements I must have. I'll wait for the 256GB version.

You will love it. Mine was pick pocked in a gay bar the last night in Barcelona last week. lol I always did love a crowded gay bar.... Now they say it might be1-2 months before they can replace it. So I have a Go-phone which I think was manufactured in 1830.

I'm sorry to hear that! icon_sad.gif

I have a number of security measures in place, that will make my iPhones and iPads unusable to thieves, erasing their contents, and might allow me to track them for the police to arrest.

But nothing is perfect, and I did have an iPad stolen from a Fort Lauderdale hospital, while my husband was having heart surgery. It apparently was never used, it never sent out a signal.

Even my custom engraved leather checkbook was found thrown along the road, with the checks still inside, and was returned to me by a Good Samaritan. I'm still using it.

And other personal items, like a 14k gold Cross pen. And other personal stuff, like some info about the Mexican cruise we had just taken, how I was identified. Weird to me how I got some stuff back, but not others, like the iPad. I guess the thief didn't realize the true value of all the things he took from me in my iPad shoulder bag.

"It's the same thing, isn't it?"

You have an Android toy, I have an Apple toy. Why should you be concerned about the difference in brands?

Many say that the current youth are obsessed with selfies and documenting every event in their lives. They announce to the world every personal occurrence as if it has universal significance.

Did they inherit this from their grandfathers?

You can't spell pretentious without iOS.

I had the the fingerprint security on, the numerical security on, and within 15 minutes of it being stolen, we'd gotten back to the hotel and gone on the laptop to send the kill/erase instructions through Apple if anyone ever tried to use it. Still, apparently it can be hacked. The next day, the thieves ran up $1,600 in calls, mostly to the same number. No one seems to care to investigate and try to track it down or the thief. I'm waiting to see if AT&T makes me pay the charges. I hear phone theft is really bad in Europe and I guess my i6 was targeted. It hasn't been introduced there yet.
