How to Get Away With Murder is treating its gay character Connor (Jack Falahee) as anything but a token. The show is unapologetic about depicting his sex scenes—and why should they be? It's 2014—breaking ground in its premiere by showing the first instance anilingus on network TV. Connor is already developing into a character with depth. He simply isn't set dressing. It's refreshing and more than welcome.

I haven't watched this episode yet from my PVR recorder but can't wait to see this scene - like you said, it is 2014... Get over it society.

He's giving me a little Brian Kinney from QAF. And the latest scene with the broker's assistant...

Lol isnt he a seductive and manipulative sex addict? His character is a great mix but I see some token in the character but most of the main cast are twisted in a sense lol

I've been meaning to propose a Gay TV Drama character thread, but the common themes seem to be one of "Manipulated for Not Being Out Yet" (Jeffrey from Haves and Have Nots) or "Manipulated as a Sex-Hungry Out Gay Man" (Cyrus from Scandal? At least this season?) or "Using Being Gay as Manipulation of other Gays for What You Want" (This guy). Guys are being led by the mind and/or by the d*ck.

The office scene in the "Last 9 Words" episode was hawt. But at the risk of a spoiler, the passion is fleeting since the "guest" character falls into that first category.

Perhaps manipulation is simply how Dramas keep the plots moving for all characters. I just would like to see more devices where gay characters weren't driven by closetness and/or horniness.

I'm thinking of the pretty lesbian doctor couple on "Gray's Anatomy" and how, if they weren't closeted or horny, didn't fight over baby mamas or lose limbs, they'd be damned boring.

Hotter how? Full on anal penetration? Or full showing of lips wrapped around dick or eating ass?

There are more gay lead roles in Television coming soon. I have friends/clients that work in TV and Hollywood is looking for more positive gay roles.

I wouldn't call this character on How to Get Away with Murder a role model that I would want any of my students or nieces to follow. I would say that he is not your stereotypical gay on tv, which is nice.

It was the worst sex scene i've seen in my life, I saw it when it aired. The show has some terrible acting as well.

I don't think you can fault the professor for terrible acting.

Viola Davis is a good actor but the students mostly are not. The sex scene was irrelevant and simply put for shock factor and to say they had a "gay scene". I've seen other shows do gay sex scenes better. I actually cringed when I saw it, where other films and TV shows involving homosexual acts I did not.

His boss implying his family has a real reason to be ashamed (not for who he is, but what he did), awfully convenient that there was an OPEN WINDOW nearby.

Revisiting the scene, it is highly implausible.
