Most historic buildings in my town are said to be haunted especially Haigh Hall where the voice of a previous Earl of Crawford was heard. Even the plantations around ghosts have been seen but when i have walked in the dark i aint come across any.

I do know the worlds first ever and original Ghost Train is in a theme park near me called Blackpool, the attraction was created from a story by a actor out of a 1970s comedy called Dad's Army, and i actually knew a co actor who knew him.

There's a full contact haunted house in San Diego. Runs all year round. Gotta make reservations though.

Although, I think it's less of a haunted house and more of a thing for BDSM enthusiasts. icon_biggrin.gif

The Mortuary here in New Orleans is the scariest haunted house I've ever been in, mostly because it's a real mortuary with the graveyard right next door. They take you down to the basement where they used to do the embalmings and the hallways are so narrow it will give you a panic attack. But there is nowhere to go but through it.

My uncle Paul lived in a haunted house

    I of course loved it

    Big surprise

My Mother told the story a TrIlION times

She was pregnant with Me at the Time

They went to a Dinner Party at the House

My Aunt Patty had at least three a week

The Drawing Room was roughly the size of a football field

    They had a grand piano

    Not a baby grand

    A grand

Patty always had a huge candelabra on top

It was cool In a Sorta Liberace kinda way

I remember it as a child

Mother said they were all talking and heard a scratching noise

She SWEArS they turned around and the candelabra slid off the piano

    By itself

Keep in mind My Mother is a nut wing who wears a fur coat to breakfast

But it's sorta a cool story

My Grandfather always thought the stories were crap

Then one day He's sitting the basement

He was an avid fisherman and was fixing a rod and reel

Uncle Paul had some giant mutt off a Dog named Rufus who was asleep in that doughnut shape Dogs take when they fall asleep

He said the room went suddenly ice cold

Grandfather said Rufus very suddenly awakened and with the fur on His neck standing up growled, showed His teeth and ran up the stairs

Grandfather, in typical style, sat down and went back to work

And He felt hands on His shoulder

    He got up and left

He never went down there again

I was about 8 years old

    Standing in the Master Bedroom

    The room got very cold

    And all the doors shut

I have NO doubts that there are Spirits around Us.

All Saints Parish Church in Wigan town centre is linked to Haigh Hall by tunnels and along them tunnels are crypts with the burials of Sir William Bradshaw and a couple of Earls. There is a pub whos cellar door attaches to the tunnels and they have heard strange things and felt strange things.

My Uncle and Aunt were always awakened by the sound of music and what they described as a party.

As soon as they opened the door it went silent

    The place was empty.

I have an old newspaper article about this...I have been looking but can't find it. There were tons of stories about this house.

The old woman who sold the house did so because she claimed that every night when she tried to sleep she heard a Mans voice saying " open your eyes.. Look at Me"

40 years later that story still gives Me the creeps

As the story goes...she finally opened her eyes and saw a Man looking back at her through the window.

The Guy who built the house was some sort of Air Force Official who was killed in a HORRIBLE accident

She said she saw him burning

    She left that night

    Never returned

My Uncle got a REALLY good deal on the house

one of the neighbours and his teenage kids used to hold a haunted house 'maze' all through their yard. It was awesome.
It all started in the cemetery, with bodies coming out of the caskets and a few real bodies. You could here the screams thru the neighbourhood. There was a witches cauldron with a person cooking in it. The mad scientist lab where blood would squirt out of the 'live' patient on the table, bodies would come to life hanging from tree limbs. They did such a great job. I went every year for 10 yrs with my son. The first time we went i was shocked at how graphic some of the stuff was. People would line up for this. LOL. it was cool icon_lol.gif
