I don't think I've ever made a friend in a bar; on the other hand, I met about half my real friends through sports.

This deserves another bump as it is the best idea to make friends, imho. All those with social anxiety (and everybody else) would benefit so much from being on a team.

Any sport that has locker rooms, jock straps, balls etc._you get the point.....oh ya. And pointy things! I am a professional athlete.....it's everywhere...has been and will continue to be.

    I prefer talking events:

    - Playwright, Director, Actors putting on a play or a dialogue

    - Lecture w/ Q&A

    - Book club, often followed by drinks or something to eat

    - Sermon followed by lunch at church or at a restaurant

It's great to make love with someone with whom you agree after a discussion of development (developing an insight about life).

It's even better to do so after hotly debating someone at the political polar opposite from you! icon_cool.gif
