Do you think playing hard to get is a good thing or does it turn you off? Do you think it makes guys more desirable? Discuss

Every dude out there is free to choose who he wants to mess up with. He can play "hard to get" if you let him do so.

With so many hot guys around, you can move on to the next willing dude who is not into games, and get going.

Judging by what I have seen recently, very few guys go for the "hard to get" dude these days. And why should they?

I don't care for games. I wouldn't give the hard to get guy a chance.

Depends on how hot he is. If he's a lot hotter than me obviously I'll have to work harder to win his attention. If he isn't, then he's not worth the trouble.

Depends on what you mean by 'hard to get'.

Personal experience has taught me that a guy who is accusing another of playing hard to get or being a prude or ice queen just missed the total message which was 'no I don't want to have sex with you, please leave me alone'.

Gay guys don't rely on the 'hard to play' card nearly as often as guys accuse them of doing so.

gays know other gays are flaky, so they like to keep a lot of backup options in-case their main pursuit doesn't go well, hence they don't outright reject you and appear to play hard to get instead icon_lol.gif It's a catch22; everyone's flaky because everyone else is

As usual, moderation is the key to everything. You don't want them to be desperate but at the same time, you don't want them to lead you on endlessly.

    Hahaha I can relate icon_lol.gif
On a serious note, I think men seldom play hard to get for the sake of it.
It normally stems from actually not being into you and trying to give you hints rather than flat out say it and be accused if being a bitchy queen.
Then there are those who are just actually really shy or oblivious to the innuendos of flirting.
Then there are those that have little confidence or are unaware of their attractiveness that they would firstly think the person is just very friendly as opposed to thinking "oh yeah they're flirting with me". Unless someone were to say out right their exact intentions, these people normally tend to give the benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise.

I'm sure there are other reasons still but honestly who cares. If they don't show interest then just forget about it and move on. Take the subtle rejection gracefully and leave it at that.

The best way for a guy to play hard to get, is actually for him to push to be platonic friends. Less awkward and less chance of being dropped.

if they play hard to get, that means they are not interested initially or at all....I don't think it's right to lead someone on if you're not into him. Sometimes, it's just the way it is. He's not that into you to begin with.

Conversely, I've been recently hanging out with this guy who was playing hard to get big time, but after twisting his arm and finally getting him to come hang out, he was all excited about meeting me and expressing regret that he didn't try to meet me sooner lol.

Sometimes gays are a bit too insecure and always trying to preemptively reject the other guy first, at the slightest hint of disinterest. What happened to "pursuing" someone haha.

Most gays are flakey and want an instant thing now. I'd say after 1-2 days waiting, ditch him. He's not worth it.
