It was the 2010 midterms that caused the deadlock in Congress on almost every issue. Vote for a Dem in your state today, or we lose the Senate. Do you want to go war? Lose your gay rights? Just think of what an all GOP Congress will do.

Congress can get worse. Georgia Republicans are trying to send Jody Hice to Congress.

Jody Hice is as crazy a rightwing nutjob as any competing for that title.

from Wisconsin, Republicans are sending Glenn Grothman to Congress:

Sex ed could turn kids gay: In 2010, Grothman, who believes that homosexuality is a choice, proposed banning Wisconsin public school teachers from mentioning homosexuality in sex education classes because some teachers had an "agenda" to turn kids gay.

In my state of Georgia the choices were easy. The Democrats are smarter on economic and social issues------and pro gay rights.

In your state you may have a pro equality Republican.
Ask Mr Google to help you research the candidates positions that are important to you.

Lol @ republicans. The only way they can admit how horrible Bush was is to pretend Obama is just as bad. History will clear things up, and show that the economy tanked on Bush's watch and recovered with Obama at the helm.

The only thing republithugs have going for them is that racists, homophobes, fundies and big oil supporters will vote for them.icon_confused.gif

Only shamed republicans call themselves independent. They have to be in the closet about their vote, because they have no integrity.

Pulleze - Bush was pretty bad - but he did not cause the economy to tank - He just happened to be there at the time. Much more responsible for the economic collapse, besides the crooked bankers, was Owen Greenspan, and Rubin and Clinton and Larry Summers, who got Glass-Stiegel repealed. And the guy who saved the country's bacon was Hank Paulsen - outgoing Treasury Secretary under Bush.

Can you name a single Banker that Obama-Holder have prosecuted for criminal actions leading to the economic crisis. Stumped? that's cause they haven't prosecuted any; not a single one. Compare that to the hundreds of prosecutions that took place after the Savings and Loan crisis. Obama's been in league with the banks. And don't expect anything different with President-elect Hillary.

The republicans deregulated the banks. How is Obama supposed to prosecute someone for being a crook when being a crook is legal?

    Born yesterday?

There were lots of crimes committed by bankers. Just none Obama-Holder wanted to prosecute. (They are apparently too busy prosecuting government whistle-blowers.)

It was Clinton that got Glass-Stiegel repealed. Last I heard he was a democrat (at least in name).

^Clinton compromised on everything with republicans: healthcare, DOMA, DADT, deregulation or banks, etc. These were republican policies though. Obama is a better president than Bill Clinton was.

well tonight America is going to send obama a message his polices have failed ! Right now he controls the senate 55-45 tonight it will flip 51-49 republicans , they could even pickup senate seats in nc and no to bring it to 53-47. The house the republicans will gain at least 6 seats . All the democrats ate running away from obama for a reason .

No - It was Clinton, Rubin, and Summers who sucessfully conspired to to prevent the CTFC from issuing regulations that would have prevented the banks from making the lousy loans - regulations that would otherwise have been issued. And of course the bankers made large contributions - sort of a quid pro quo - Politics as usual in Democratic party Washington.

Obama has been a essentially a do-nothing president (I wonder if Romney would have been worse - except for the 2 Supreme court appointments - for which Romney would have been a disaster.) Accomplished essentially nothing except Obamacare - and that was a bunch of terrible compromises. We are now facing endless war - 1984 has finally arrived. (Yes, Bush started it, but Obama continues it.)
