Hoping the GOP takes the Senate with a decent majority so we can stop President Lenin in his tracks.icon_smile.gif I hope Mitch McConell will be replaced though. The GOP desperately needs new leadership to tackle the National debt, oppose amnesty for illegals and work to rebuild our infrastructure and fight terrorism. If it is just bash Obama then they will lose their majority quick.

The first arrogance is to assume there are thousands of US GOPers on an international gay site. Why on God's green Earth would a gay man support politicians who want to deny them their civil rights, and make them second-class citizens?

And don't use the economy dodge, because Republicans brought us the biggest economic downturn since the Great Depression. Nor national security, since 9/11 happened during their watch, and unnecessary, ruinously wasteful wars in terms of lives, money & resources that have made us less secure than we were before.

Given the senatorial map in 2016 and the likelihood that we'll lose the senate again anyway, I would gladly take a dive on the senate this year if that gave us a better chance at POTUS in 2016.

So yes, I agree, we're going to need to get some work done to not lose it all in 2016. To do that I think we need to replace the male version of the present senate majority leader and kick McConnell to the curb. I haven't quite thought out who I'd like to see replace him until we get through tonight first.

I'm feeling a little better about tonight that we'll get at least the seats necessary and maybe even run the tables and get all of the TU seats.

President Lenin has had a great effect on the national debt:

"Robust economic growth has helped push the U.S. budget deficit down to the lowest level since 2008, marking the sharpest turnaround in the government’s fiscal position in at least 46 years."

You got out and did what you needed to do for your great state of Florida, didn't you?

Of course, though it was a bit confusing because apparently Charlie Crist at the last moment changed from the Republican Party to Independent to the Democrat Party to the Green Party!

(Did early voting a week ago and voted for Scott).
u know flordia shouldn't even be close Scott has done a good job . Crist is a flip flopper

Here is hoping that voters in Michigan will overwhelmingly reelect incumbent Rick Snyder to another four year term as governor of the wolverine state.

That sounds like the mass majority of voters in most older, northern cities like Detroit, Flint, St Louis, Buffalo, and Baltimore. Go figure.

"President Lenin" Deep thinking, linked to a profound knowledge of history. Amazingly clever addition to the debate, too!

Why counsel against arrogance? After all, we have it on reliable - well, kinda - authority that "elections have consequences." We ALL learned from that, right???

For the record: looking good for the GOP and this gay GOPer is highly pleased with the way things are "trending." Latest lefto-meme: focus on 2016; read, ignore the present reality. That will be then, if then; this is NOW! Looking forward to seeing crow served for breakfast in the White House tomorrow, and a bill of impeachment served in January before the Charlatan-in-Charge does any further damage to the USA.

A certain type of older gay man is desperate to hold onto a society which still discriminates against his fellow gays.

Why? Perhaps it's jealousy of the next generation and the easier path they have.

Perhaps they've simply become comfortable in the closet.

Whatever their reasons, these older gay men do not want their representatives talking about gay equality.

Your right, to a point, but not in the way you might imagine. I'd rather speak for myself, politically and in the courts, as I have, in favor of gay rights, instead of letting some political poseur presume to do so for me.

Your assumptions are as mind-boggling as they are inaccurate.

Thanks for the feedback on the issue of some older gays who take anti gay positions in their politics.

Remain willfully ignorant if you will; it's your right. Just because my how differs from your why doesn't make it "anti-gay." And, exactly what have YOU done to promote gay rights in the electoral and judicial forums, besides parroting leftist cliches and stereotypes here???

Lookin' good, GOP; keep on keepin' on!

Art, don't forget - the GOP gave us the Great Depression, also. Their failed policies will swing the pendulum again.

Why would senior citizens vote democratic? What if you happen to be pro life? It is about time republicans took it back and next the presidency! Obama has done a sub par job and it will be nice to have a tougher US President, one better versed in foreign affairs and military measures. One who will not have to learn as you go approach to strengthening the economy. One who will end obamacare.
I know many many serviceman that can't stand Obama. Many are being deployed against their will to Africa late November through January. Reach out to these men and send care packages and letters of support. Do any of you know the percentage of Americans don't feel safe in America? They want REAL change. I can't wait. We have all had enough of this reality tv like president who cares what Hollywood thinks of him and spends more time and more of our tax dollars than any other president on his vacations. He still sucks at golf. He sucks more as a president.icon_idea.gif

What interests me is that other Conservative gay men here who did indeed want the Republican sweep are saying nothing about this gem.

He is saying that if you voted Republican you are not gay, rofl.

So I guess then, SB, that you are not gay?

He's also saying that if you are Republican or Democrat, you don't think because...dun dun dun.. you are gay.

    Oh dear lord...*laughing*

Maybe Scott will stop being an asshole and expand medicaid in order to help thousands of poor Floridians that can't get insurance, but I doubt it.
