Oklahoma will always be 20 years behind more progressive states thanks to the poison that is conservative Republicanism. Highly ranked in prescription related deaths and meth productions, lowly ranked in public education standards or percentage of population with an undergraduate degree, this state will continue to be the laughing stock of the nation.

When I tell people I'm from Oklahoma, they say "I'm sorry." I cannot wait to finish undergrad so I can flee this state and never look back. Until then, I will live under the reign of a governor who hates anyone who isn't Christian and upper-class.

I'm also from Oklahoma. Liberal. Highly educated. Etc. May I offer an alternative to your fleeing? Stay. Stay and help build a better state. Lord knows we need it.

I doubt he'll stay just to vote, but it's true that red states get redder when democrats escape... It's just that you can't blame for them for wanting to get out of bumfuck.icon_eek.gif

Oklahoma has more democrats than republicans.

Voter Registration and Party Enrollment as of January 15, 2012:

    Democratic 943,283 47.15%
    Republican 828,257 41.40%
    Unaffiliated 229,070 11.45%

Same-sex marriage and adoption are legal in Oklahoma unlike many other states.

Yes, to the ire of our government. Mary Fallin and our attorney general had nothing but negative remarks when the state was forced to allow gay marriage. Yes, we had to be FORCED to because our government had vowed to 'maintain the sanctity of marriage'. It being legal says nothing about our state when their hand was forced by the Federal Government.

Did you actually expect a Democrat to become governor in Oklahoma? After al Illinois, Massachusetts, and Maryland now have Republican governors. Me thinks if you are moving to a more "progressive" state after graduation you should take a Virgin Rocket to ..... Mars. I cannot think of a better home for liberals. icon_rolleyes.gif

Considering how widespread displeasure with Mary Fallin seemed to be over the past year, yes, I did. It's just that people would rather sit and bitch about the people in office all year but can't be bothered to take the 15 minutes out of their day to go vote on Election Day.

Continue voting for those who have your worst interest at heart. That is your right.

Yes, thanks to the Federal Courts! Specifically the Tenth Circuit Court.
It has nothing to do w the citizens or lawmakers (overwhelmingly repubs) of the state of Oklahoma.

Why do neocons always fail to tell the whole truth?
Because simply put, reality has a well known liberal bias!

OF course I'm not happy about it Roadrash. But we all expected it, and I'm patient. She lost by 10 points. 2/3 of them voted and 1/3 of ours did. Clearly, the numbers are there just not the voters.

Incidentally, are those manboobs under your lovely yellow mumu?

You Texas barbarians will never change your extremist right wing ways so stop living in a fantasyland. Texas will always be ultra conservative and religious. FYI, I don't have manboobs you crazy crackpot.
