The Second Coming of Jesus Is Just a Way to Console Oneself about Jesus' Kingdom Not Happening. There's No Second Coming.

    Matthew:
Jesus does not say he's returning - I am with you always, until the end of the age.

    Mark (Shorter Ending):
The gospel ends before Jesus ascends.
There are no recorded words of Jesus after the resurrection.
A young man tells them Jesus of Nazareth has been raised. The young man knows Jesus is on the way to Galilee and he tells that to the women.

    Mark (Longer Ending):
Jesus does not say he's returning - like Matthew's I am with you always: Mark 16:20 they went forth and preached everywhere while the Lord worked with them (from Heaven)

    Luke:
Jesus does not say he's returning, just blessings, parted from them, and taken up to heaven.

    John:
No Ascension narrative and Jesus does not say he's returning

What difference does it make, as long as in every way,
whether in pretense or in truth,
    Christ is being proclaimed?
    – An Authentic Letter of Paul to the Philippians 1: 18

Paul is not a foundation for establishing the existence of Jesus or any second coming of Jesus.

The pretense of Jesus' second coming proclaims Jesus. Just say anything about Jesus, attribute anything to Jesus, just keep the name of Jesus trending (a term we use now).

Second, what can a person do after believing Jesus when Jesus spoke about his kingdom and it did not come? Console one another in pretense or in truth.

Then, we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up in the clouds together with those who have died.
We will meet the Lord in the air. Thus, we shall always be with the Lord.
Therefore, console one another with these words (and picture: the dead and the living suspended in mid air with Jesus).
    - An Authentic Letter of Paul, First Thessalonians 4: 17

Jesus answered: "Watch out that no one deceives you. For many will come in my name, claiming, 'I am the Christ,' and will deceive many. And many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. At that time if anyone says to you, 'Look, here is the Christ!' or, 'There he is!' do not believe it. For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect--if that were possible. See, I have told you ahead of time. "So if anyone tells you,

'There he is, out in the desert,' do not go out; or, 'Here he is, in the inner rooms,' do not believe it. For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. (Matthew 24:4-5; 11; 23-27)

Why become exercised about the Second Coming? It really has no bearing on how we should be living our lives. The emphasis of the NT is on loving one's neighbor, being kind, and social justice.

God said He would re-gather Israel back in the Land . . . on May 14, 1948 God’s prophetic clock started ticking again, loudly!!!!icon_wink.gif

Who has heard such a thing? Who has seen such things?
Shall the Earth be made to give birth in one day? Or shall a nation be born at once? For as soon as Zion was in labor, she gave birth to her children." This prophecy was fulfilled in one day - on May 14, 194icon_cool.gif

He will set up a banner for the nations, and will assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the Earth."(Isaiah 11:12)

Thus says the Lord God:Surely I will take the children of Israel from among the nations, wherever they have gone, and will gather them from every side
and bring them into their own Land."
    Ezekiel 37:21)

QUOTE AUTHOR GOES HEREBehold, I (God) will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling (anger, fear)
unto ALL the people (nations) round about . . ."
(Zechariah 12:2)"And in that Day (the "Day of the Lord" ... the coming "Apocalypse")I (God) will make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for ALL people"(Zechariah12:
    3)

Because, even because they have seduced My people (Israel), saying, "Peace", and there WAS NO PEACE ..."
    (Ezekiel 13:10)
"For they have healed the hurt
of the daughter of My people slightly, saying, 'Peace, Peace; when there IS NO PEACE!"(Jeremiah 8:11)

For you yourselves know perfectly that the Day of the Lord (the coming 'Apocalypse' and Armageddon)so comes as a thief in the night. For when they say, "Peace and safety!" then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape."(1 Thessalonians 5:2-3)

For Gaza shall be forsaken,And Ashkelon desolate; They shall drive out Ashdod at noonday,And Ekron shall be uprooted.Woe to the inhabitants of the seacoast,The nation of the Cherethites! The word of the Lord is against you,O Canaan, land of the Philistines :"I (God) will destroy you So there shall be no inhabitant."

All Nations will then turn against Nation Israel ...The Battle of Armageddon

    In those days

    and at that time,

    When I (God)

    bring back the captives

    of Judah and Jerusalem,

    (this will happen after 194icon_cool.gif

I will also gather ALL nations,

    And bring them down to

    the Valley of Jehoshaphat;

    (outside Jerusalem ... 2 Chronicles 20:1-30)

And I (God) will enter into judgment

    with them there

    On account of My people,

    My heritage Israel,

    Whom they have scattered

    among the nations;

    They have also DIVIDED

    up My Land."

    (Israel will be divided)

    And I saw three

    unclean spirits like frogs

    coming out of the mouth

    of the Dragon, (Satan)

out of the mouth of the Beast (Antichrist),

    and out of the mouth

    of the False Prophet

(the second Beast - a religious leader).

For they are spirits of demons,

    performing signs (miracles),

which go out to the kings of the

Earth and of the whole world,

to gather them to the battle

of that great Day of God Almighty ...

    And they gathered them together

to the place called in Hebrew,

    Armageddon."

    For I (God)

    will gather ALL the nations

    to battle against Jerusalem,

the city (Jerusalem) shall be taken,

    the houses rifled, and

    the women ravished (brutally raped).

    Half of the city (Jerusalem)

    shall go into captivity,

but the remnant of the people

shall not be cut off from the city."

    (Zechariah 14:2)

"And it shall come to pass

    in all the Land (Israel),

    says the Lord,

    That two-thirds of it

shall be cut off and die,

but one-third shall be left in it:

(only 1/3 survive - fewer in the world)

    I will bring the one-third

    through the fire,

will refine them as gold is tested.

They will call on My Name,

    and I will answer them.

    I will say, 'This is My people';

    and each one will say,

    'the LORD is my God.'"

Messiah, Jesus Christ, will return at the very end of the coming ‘Apocalypse’ to save the remnant of Israel from the armies of the world which will one day gather against her. He will then rule and reign over Israel ... and over ALL nations of the World.

Jesus says when He returns to rule there will be no question it is Him. When He again steps forth from Eternity every eye will see Him "coming in the clouds" with millions from Heaven, in power and great glory

the final battle no1 can save israel but jesus, they will be attacked by every nation. they scream our for him to save them! and he will answer them

"And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and supplication. They will look on me, the one they have pierced, and they will mourn for him as one mourns for an only child, and grieve bitterly for him as one grieves for a firstborn son.

You are assuming that everything in the Bible attributed to God was actually said by God. I do not agree with that assumption.

The OT provides instructions for solders to kidnap and rape attractive women. Do you really believe that that was from God?

The Bible also requires a raped woman to marry her rapist. Do you really believe that that was from God?

The OT also makes it clear that a woman is the possession of her father until a man buys her from her father to be a wife after which she is the possession of her husband, along with his cattle, house, and other chattels. Do you really believe that that was from God?

There are many things in the Bible which are completely unacceptable to civilized people. I do not for one minute believe that those parts express the Will of God.

Much of the Bible is nothing more than an expression of ancient Hebrew culture much of which God surely would not approve. Other parts are the history of the ancient Hebrew people, distorted as history usually is, to rationalize the ghastly things they did by claiming that they were acting under orders from God. Other parts are simply wishful thinking.

The parts of the Bible which mandate love, kindness, and social justice do express the will of God. We should put the emphasis on those parts and consider the rest to be nothing more than background material.

the scrolls have not changed . this is a fact!

The various prophetic references are just that: prophecies. God is saying that if the people don't live right, they will be weakened as a nation and calamities will come upon them, including invasion by foreign nations that will do horrible things to them. God isn't saying that it's good or that it's right, simply that that is what will end up happening.

god punished king david because he killed his best servant then married his wife. king david thought his son was the chosen one because prophet nathan said he would have a son that will rule israel forever! jeuus is the seed of david!

It really is amazing how a bunch of people that cry for acceptance have no problem stomping on whatever belief or religion you please. It's disgusting and frankly I think forum topics like this should be banned from a site like this. This site has become a huge joke for prissy little bitches to whine when they break their pretty little nails...

Frankly it's a little embarrassing to be on a site where there are so many confused, selfish, and overly arrogant men. Not a circle I need to be in anymore. If anyone who reads this feels like taking a crack at me because of what I believe in, go right ahead because your words don't do a damn thing for me lol. I got my shit straight; maybe you should check yourself to make sure you're in the same boat.

Finally, let me say something that I've been wanting to say for a very long time. The gay community has made progress but until the ungrateful punks that love to complain and step on anyone that doesn't live in a similar lifestyle are shut down, progress will always be slow and even more painful. Try learning to stand on your own two feet and getting yourself straight before you try and lead others. I want to see the Gay community free and less burdened but this selfish, arrogant streak has to end somewhere. Take care of yourself guys and try to get along with each other for once...

This happened during the Jewish Revolt before the Temple was destroyed. Josephus tells us that a false prophet told the people to go to the Temple and God would save them there. They were not safe there.

What you're quoting comes from the section that speaks of the signs of the coming of the Son of Man.

The gospels do not say Jesus is coming again, as the original post shows.

The Acts of the Apostles says Jesus is not coming again but he will send the Holy Spirit.

We do not get the Holy Spirit and the second coming of Jesus where the only thing he does is gather the dead and the living in the middle of the air.

Revere the New Testament seeing its historical accuracy. The Apostle Paul does not have permission to usurp Jesus. If Jesus said he was not coming again, that's it. Paul becomes the propagandist saying true and false things about Jesus.

Paul falsely said Jesus is going to do something Jesus didn't say he was going to do. And, Paul doesn't care: pretense or truth, just say Jesus. I'm not going to do that.

The New Testament could be a good influence on culture when the contradictions have been resolved, not when an over-zealous Paul leads people astray.

Remember Paul speaks against homosexuals, bisexuals, and lesbians. How easily we google and find this:

    http://blogs.christianpost.com/confident-christian/does-paul-condemn-homosexuality-in-1-corinthians-and-1-timothy-12362/

    Conclusion

The passages in 1 Corinthians and 1 Timothy dealing with homosexual behavior do indeed condemn homosexual sex and warn those practicing that lifestyle of the eternal consequences that will come from continuing in that behavior. However, it is interesting in Vines’ message that he didn’t keep reading in 1 Corinthians where Paul says: “Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God” (1 Corinthians 6:11, my emphasis). Why ignore this verse?

Vines doesn’t cite the passage because Paul’s statement decimates the idea of homosexual Christianity. Paul tells his readers that such practices were evidences of their old life, but now that they have been born again, they have new holy affections and desires, which stand in opposition to the way they used to live.

Does this mean that Christians never sin or are impervious to temptation? Not at all. But it does mean they recognize the sins Paul lists in both the 1 Corinthians and 1 Timothy passages as being sinful, and don’t use the Bible to try and justify a lifestyle they want to participate in that goes against God’s moral law.

In the end, the arguments that Vines and other homosexual apologists make against these passages in Paul’s epistles falls flat. Their emotional appeals may tug at the heart, but their facts don’t stand up to the meaning found in the text.

Inciting people to not discuss the New Testament intelligently only harms real jocks, homosexuals, bisexuals, and lesbians.

Belief systems are responsible for discrimination against people in the work place. Belief systems are responsible for Creationism wins against Science when Science really is accurate. Ignoring intelligence, knowledge, education, science, and history is detrimental to society.
