Can't be bothered to complain about the incorrect use of the word liberal, but whatevs.

Click on the link: it's a nice summing up (it was too big a picture to post as a picture, sorry guys).

Also: feel free to bash each other about the evils of communism and the evils of republicanism just because that's all everyone does on these politics threads anyway...

The bottom left quadrant is wrong as a lib-left wouldn't believe in the concept of a welfare-state as they disagree with the state (and would wish to ban money) anyway.

    Either way, this is amusing.

You peeps should all take this.

You answer a bunch of questions and maps out your politics on a graph, i.e.

    1. Belief in economic-regulation: left vs. right
    2. Belief in state-control: libertarian vs. authoritarian

In the end, I think most people just want to be left alone without being told what to do from the right or the left.

    But.......

left/right. liberal/conservative is a bullshit media construct to perpetuate the corrupt 2 party system (pretty much worldwide)

most people are moderates of some ilk and way more complicated than the Tory/Whig or Republican/Democrat nonsense

I don't know about other countries but I know that the democratic-republican duopoly has fucked up the US very badly.

I'm neither because conservatives sell us out to Christian homophobes and liberals sell us out to Muslim homophobes. Fuck both sides of the political aisle with every last quantum of my bisexual soul.

This would be true, but most political parties aren't ideologically what their names would be associated with.

The Labour Party in Britain is economically right-wing and The Conservative Party doesn't uphold conservative social values or traditionalism.

Plotted out on the political compass test graph, you will see that there isn't a substantial ideological difference between the two main parties. Politics is no longer about ideology. It is about vested-interests and image-politics and media-spin.

A Liberal would actually be against both because Liberals posit the idea of questioning authority (from the state and from religion). Unfortunately, the term 'liberal' has been warped and destroyed so people associate it with this image of a vegan politically-correct, hair-dyed, wishy-washy twat.
