It's cold, quiet, dark, and raining here.

I always say to people that I don't mind being alone. I'm good at being alone. But somehow at times like this I just couldn't sleep. It's cold. I miss my family which is weird since I just had dinner with my parents and my brother yesterday.

I'm having warm sweet lemon tea and listening to lots of mellow and sad songs. It's actually a comfort. Right now Avril Lavigne's "I'm With You" is playing.

What u doin now? Care to share?

I love when it's dark, cold and raining outside and I get to be cozy inside. Just put on a cup of tea, keep warm and read a book or watch TV or something. I'm from Ireland though so when we have weather like that it actually makes me feel more at home. icon_rolleyes.gif And then when it's sunny I suppose there's nothing to complain about.

I once told somebody that I love cloudy days. He looked at me like I was nuts. Sunny days are fine, but cloudy, rainy, even snowy, days are very comforting because they're cause for introspection. If you don't go the loneliness or depression route, which is the way many people get affected by inclement weather, they can really make you feel appreciative and inspire you to be creative.

Well said, I was going to say something similar. We just received a tad bit of snow overnight, enough to make the ground white, so do yard work today. Instead, I'll shift gears and be productive inside.
Days like this can be very productive, just in a different way and they can be great for introspection.. getting your thoughts or ideas in good order or to spend your time in a way you might not have otherwise!

Cold and rainy days are ideal for cuddling with someone special. Those days can make one feel one's singleness more acutely.

+1 so very true. My mood gets affected by dark, gloomy and cold weather. That's why I love sunny, warm southern California. When winter comes, it gets dark earlier and coldness makes me feel sad and lonely.

Yes, unless I get to cuddle with someone special. icon_redface.gificon_redface.gif

Im usually at work or running around the city for things none stop. When days like this come along I feel like paradise...in bed under 3 blankets, curtains closed, tv is on and dog licking himself by my side. Oufff what a week :-/

I don't get depressed or lonely, just tired of it
Here in Florida we don't have "rainy days", we have rainy seasons
Literally from August until about two weeks ago it rained every single fucking day (except for two sunny ones---just two)
    It's not fun

Seasonal dysphoria is a real reaction that some ppl get during the winter months. Less daylight seems to be the trigger but adding cloudy rainy weather to that can make it seem worse. I definitely make those one of my gym days to get my endorphins up and if its a non-work day as well, I try to get some tedious stuff done around the house that I've been putting off. It's cloudy, cool and drizzly in Houston today so I'm checking out the open enrollment at healthcare.gov to renew my insurance plan for next year. Boring but important stuff and a great day to get it done. I'm lucky that I have an awesome partner so we may binge-watch Blacklist together later or better yet do a little cardio in the sack! icon_smile.gif

I wish I was there. Be in your sweat pants. The smell of sweet potatoes pie. Eating pie. Cuddling.

No. That's my stay indoors, and play video games or read a good book day.

I have a very severe case of Seasonal Affective Disorder...dark gloomy summer days are VERY different from dark gloomy winter days for me.....a gloomy summer day is a nice time for the introspective time or catching up on chores.....winter ....well I am on multiple drugs have several full spectrum lights, regular therapy and planned exercise that I have to attend, or they send police to the house or work looking for me, to control the suicidal depression....yeah....it gets awful and not even scary at the moment things start to go wrong. My doctors have told me I am one of the most extreme and worst cases documented...."lonely" would be a great improvement for me.

If I'm alone and have nothing to do, I rather it be a horrible blizzard outside than a beautiful sunny day. I once broke up with someone in the middle of the summer, and it was the worst feeling seeing all the possible outdoor activities to do and not being able to share it with someone close.

I don't like it when it is cold and raining. The wet chills just go right through you. I don't mind cold, cloudy weather but it should either stay dry or a light snow. Today it is dry but cloudy and a chilly 35 degrees but there is a stiff breeze coming off Lake Erie. It is good, brisk weather for walking and for running.

No. I just feel cold and wet. I guess Mom was right - I don't have the sense to come in out of the rain.

lol. thats the 'liquor guilt'… when you are just 'not quite sure' what happened and if you behaved or not!
and to the op question, I can sometimes feel lonely even when the sun is shining and its a beautiful day. Sometimes life just happens that way…

I actually kind of enjoy those type of days, I like going to a cafe/bubble tea place or something and sit by a window HaHa!! They sort of give off a nostalgic feeling but it's nice icon_smile.gif

Cold and raining is THE BEST weather to have a sleep in.
Winter is so hard for me because there's nothing better than sleeping in on a cold and rainy day.
That kind of weather makes me really sleepy. I instantly think of blankets when I'm in that kind of weather lol.

It's cold here, and the heater is trying to work.

But went downstairs, worked out to TMNT (2014)-- lets do less with the CG please ! and feeling good for sleep. Only up this late because I had a sweet, and LONG NAP. Oh my ga, was it good.

Also, a fan of Tea, warm or cold, but caffeine free (like everything else in my life) icon_smile.gif
