I think you have to be a little careful with some of those zero ratings because that could simply be that they refused the questionnaire. It might but does not necessarily indicate being anti-gay.

There was some idiot on this thing saying that Buffett is anti-gay, which is such a lame claim. And the idiot tried to base that on a zero rating. But the zero rating is simply because they don't answer questionnaires. I looked at a few of their companies and sure enough, there seemed antidiscrimination guidelines clearly noted.

So I don't know what their scores might have been had they filled out a questionnaire but certainly it would not have been the zero that is being reported.

And here again on this list is Brooks Brothers, which I'd never before heard much bad about, maybe I just missed it, but on looking at their website, they seem supportive of community...

    http://www.brooksbrothers.com/social-in-the-community/social-in-the-community,default,pg.html

    Including support for....

UCLA Pediatric AIDS Coalition Los Angeles, CA
The Trevor Project West Hollywood, CA
Hartford Gay & Lesbian Health Collective West Hartford, CT

as well as being a corporate sponsor of...

    Housing Works

Housing Works is a healing community of people living with and affected by HIV/AIDS. Our mission is to end the dual crises of homelessness and AIDS through relentless advocacy, the provision of lifesaving services, and entrepreneurial businesses that sustain our efforts.

    &

    Project Angel Food

Project Angel Food's mission is to nourish the body and spirit of men, women and children affected by HIV/AIDS, Cancer, and other life-threatening illnesses. Volunteers and staff cook and deliver free and nutritious meals prepared with love throughout Los Angeles County, acting out of a sense of urgency because hunger and illness do not wait.

And I didn't even look yet to see hiring practices but based on this I'd imagine finding antidiscrimination policy there.

So is that really a company you want to boycott? Probably not, yet it is on that list to avoid.

I don't get it. Target scores 100. But there was a big hoopla regarding their CEO making donations to politicians that support anti-gay rights laws.

Their scoring systems seems pretty arbitrary. I'd take this list with a grain of salt.

He doesn't like Metta, not one iota. Insinuating that Metta isn't a real person (he is) is an attempt to personally hurt him and discredit him in front of everyone here.

Since HRC rates liberal presidential advisor Warren Buffett a ZERO for gay rights, why aren't his businesses listed?

There is this new feature that you may not have heard about. It's called the "IGNORE HIS POSTS" button. Press that button and just like magic, you will never have to be bothered by Metta8 again. But then you wouldn't get to complain about him either.

I AM curious about what metta has to say about the accuracy of these boycott lists, which sometimes channels the gay-hurt/anger against the wrong parties...

Does no one find it funny how he never actually talks?? icon_lol.gif

The automated Metta8 headline and link copy and paste unit does not verify for accuracy. It simply copies and pastes, copies and pastes.

Now for some real accuracy. Target did donate to a local Minnesota anti-gay issue. It's not clear how high up in the corporation the decision was actually made. Target did fumble the ball at first in response. And HRC did downrate Target's equality score as a result.

Target soon corrected the situation and they regained their perfect 100 HRC score the next year. So that is no mystery. It seems the one here who chronically lacks accuracy and misrepresents is not metta8.

Target sells 4 or 5 LGBT/rainbow themed gift cards. You can also buy a wedding congratulations card for same sex couples in most Targets. Sometimes it's the little stuff.
