Pride? I'm not proud. What is there to be proud about? I'd give anything to be normal.

Uh-oh... The "normal" remark is gonna cause a firestorm. Before it starts, I'll just simply state that I consider myself both gay & normal, and I'm proud of who I am, in that I have no shame or regrets about myself. On the contrary, I consider myself very lucky & blessed, wouldn't trade for anything. And I've lived on both sides of the fence.

Red, the 'normal remark' shouldn't cause a firestorm...it's not meant in a derogatory way. Just life would be so much easier. Why do you think rates of depression are so high among the gay community? That's all I'm saying. Of course I don't have regrets...why would I regret what I can't help?

Rugga, hopefully you will get to a point where you are proud.

Being proud of being gay is part of liking yourself and something definitely worth working towards.

    hmm been thinking yay me..

I'm not proud of being gay, in fact, I'm sorta not anything about being gay, I don't really care that I am gay... i'm gay, I couldn't give a shit either way..

I'm proud of being me though, not because i'm gay, but, because, despite my flaws which are numerous and massive, I'm on the whole, a good, loving, person.

Being gay isn't something to be proud of, just as it is not something to be ashamed of. It's the way the dough rose...
I'm jonsin' for some triple chocolate chip cookies with pecans here... *nibbles on fingernails*

I am a little proud that I managed to break a fiberglass handled axe this morning chopping out mesquite trees... icon_razz.gif
Mostly because I don't gotta chop anymore out until it's replaced. Work is for suckers. icon_lol.gif

I heard castration cures homosexuality. You ought to try it and report back.

ruggabugga, you ARE normal. You're gay. This is like the colour of your eyes, which is likely normal too!

It's just not as easy as being straight. Well, many people have it not so easy. You could be a genius that few understand. You could be a really soft caring individual with a set of ethics that allow others to crap all over you with their bad moods, taking your code of ethics as license to do so.

You could have a list of phobias preventing you from having an average joy in existence. This list goes on and on. Gay is a part of you. What kind of gay man do you want to be? Whatever it is, hopefully it will be one that you will impress yourself with.

There have been topics in the past about gay perfectionism. I often say it's like the old Rogers and Hammerstein song,

"Anything you can do I can do better." In other words, gays try harder, whatever they do. So, prove yourself to yourself. Make your unique mark in the world. Make it a better place, if just a little, and you know, others will admire that.

I am so not normal, but the gay thing is not what makes me abnormal.

I am proud that I am a member of a degenerate elite. The inferior breading masses can go back to their burrows and pump out a few more horrid children for all I care. Just keep them out of my haughty sight.

Were you by chance, the high school jock who always picked on the school fairy and then realized later how similar you were?

I'm proud of NOT being a small part of a collective that walks in one direction and follow one idea and rule .. I'm proud of being different and special .. besides, being gay is a lot fun that being straight ..
