I don't know what you guys think of Ashton Kutcher. His cuteness wears off quickly but yet he has the ability to sometimes speak well seemingly sometimes almost articulate. Here he is talking about raising a child with just he and his his partner doing the work. Besides saying that the greatest experience is that it's amazing how much you can love another person, he quotes someone (didn't catch the name) saying (society/parents) don't need to make a better world for our children, rather, we need to make better children for our world. Maybe I've lived in a cave for too long and have never heard that before but it's probably the single greatest advice a parent can heed to.

Ashton was only the messenger. It's the message that was credible: Raise better kids for the world. Don't make the world better for our kids because that will last maybe one generation. Raise our kids to be better for the world and it will continue for generations and generations to come.

Ignoring the trailer trash who are breeding like rabbits, I think it's safe to say that the vast majority of parents think that they're doing a good job of raising their kids for a better world. You don't hear parents saying stuff like, "I don't give a shit what my kid learns or knows."

Right wing conservatives believe that they're doing the right thing teaching their kids their conservative values, and likewise for the left teaching their kids liberal values.

there is some truth to the statement ' breed better kids'. Some people clearly should have been sterilized at an early age. I had an old scottish aunt who used to say ' they take better care breeding horses than then some people breeding'. Just because you can, doesn't mean you should!! There is a certain amount of responsibility that goes with it… Shocking, i know!!! My theory is 'you owe it to society' to turn out decent children, which = decent adults! Granted there are extenuating circumstances… with everything...
