I've known this real cute guy for a long time now, but he's had a breakup a few months ago and already has 2 daughters. To this day I can't get him off my mind (may have dreamt him a few times too), any thoughts guys?

This. I mean, keep him as a friend but I wouldn't go chasing after someone who can't possibly be interested.

I think it's better that way too, even if he does seem like eye candy, I'm not one for kids.

Nothing's going to happen. You'll obsess over him for several more months, waste gas+money+time to be near him, and attempt an awkward overture that'll be politely rejected (followed by him vigilantly avoiding you forever). You'll lose a friend.

Advice: keep him as a friend, but immediately start looking for someone else who'll actually return your advances. Before you know it, straight-with-two-daughters guy will no longer interest you. And he'll still be a friend.

Why would I follow around my previous boss and good friend? I may help him out every early summer (non sexual) but I know not to get too close.

If he's straight then why pursue him? You should try to find yourself another decent gay man instead of wanting a straight man w/ kids (not that kids are a deal breaker). There's nothing wrong with staying friends though but don't fantasize that something romantic will come from it. icon_neutral.gif

Really? Move on to someone you can have. Soon as you said he's straight that was your answer and cue to press on.
