Has anyone else made plans for a relaxing spring break yet?
Where do you plan on going?
OR, if you're not going anywhere, where would you like to go?

Not much SB down here in Fort Lauderdale anymore, since the city pulled up the welcome mat some years ago. A little activity on South Beach, but that's also a shadow of what it once was.

Nevertheless, if anyone's thinking of doing your SB down here, I'll give you some links & tips. Main one is: Miami Beach/South Beach isn't heavily gay anymore. Gay-friendly, but it's mostly straight now. The new gay central is Fort Lauderdale & Wilton Manors, some 35 miles to the north. But if you just want the college crowd, regardless of orientation, then South Beach could still work, if a bit pricey.

    Debauchery

Succinctly stated! Unfortunately for gay guys, most of that debauchery is hetero-based, at least the public manifestations. Does anyone know of a place where gays can openly behave as outrageously as the straight college students? Maybe wet briefs contests instead of wet T-shirt contests?

We do have wet underwear contests here all the time, but not associated with SB per se, and totally indoors at gay clubs, not outdoors bordering the beach.

The other thing Gigolo missed was 24/7 drunkenness, kids falling off hotel balconies to their deaths, traffic mayhem on the roads, alcohol fatalities, drug ODs; why Fort Lauderdale created conditions to discourage Spring breakers. SB can be a great Rite of Passage, if you survive it.

A wet briefs contest?! That's an awesome idea! icon_biggrin.gif

....So i did miss a lot! All that crap on MTV and COPS was true! Dammit, we gays created bathhouses, cruising, started raves and circuit parties, and NO one thought of spring break?! I want my spring break!!! (throws tantrum) icon_mad.gif

I am going to Savannah, Georgia for a week. Hopefully with a visit to Paula's Party. Not your average spring break, but I am kinda over the booze cruises around Cancun.

My spring break is going to freaking ROCK!

I'm going to be on campus, at my job, cleaning our dining hall so the students don't realize how messy we are during the semester. Man, I can't wait to lounge for hours on my knees scrubbing under the counters.

    WOOOH!

    Red Vespa,

I've heard that Fort Lauderdale is the much more gay friendly area of the two, but which would you say is the better place to actually live for a college aged guy? I'm blindly moving down there in a month knowing only the basics of the area. Any help would be awesome.

I'm spending the break in New York City. I've never been to the US before, and I'm really looking forward to all the amazing museums, art galleries and lots and lots of hot sex. Oh, and broadway. I can't decide between seeing Wicked or Hairspray.
