I have a pet peeve/hangup, it's being replied to with mindless bullshit. Do you think passive aggressive communication is the norm for gay guys?

As a realjocker that had produced a spine how do you respond to mindless junk like
    "Lol"
    "Haha"
    "icon_smile.gif"

    1. Out of principle do you never reply do something like that
    2. Do you try to keep the conversation going
    3. Do you leave it and wait for your mood to change and possibly talk later

If the conversation carries on for a while, a LOL can be a cue to end it. I just naturally stop responding at that point. Unless I have something more to say, then I write more.

I'm not sure I understand your question. How are those responses considered passive aggressive? If you say something funny, is the other guy supposed to respond with fully drawn out descriptive sentences?

"That is a funny and clever anecdote. I am laughing out loud. I cannot hold the laughter and am rolling on the floor."

I was on Plenty of Fuglies and I came across a guy whom I found decently attractive. The conversation was normal up to this point and then I decided to test out his sense of humor with the following:

    Blah
    Blah
    Blah...

What you going to school for? I work retail

Software programming. I'm not a computer nerd, but I want to make websites my career. I'm excited, it's been a long time since I've been in school though... I've heard [my school] is high school 2.0 so I guess I'll be eating lunch with the librarians again haha

It wasn't as bad as it sounds, sometimes we would go hotbox in the parking lot... most people don't even realize that those bitches always have a J somewhere on them, how do you think they're so chill all the time? It's like "uhh hello, i need to check out this book..?" and she's nowhere to be seen because she's hittin a spliff in non-fiction...

    10/19/2014 10:19:50 PM

    Lol

Lol…..LOL??? That’s all he has to fucking say? I know you he was into the ganja, it says 420 cool on his profile so I know he can appreciate a good weed joke, and I just typed out an entire paragraph of completely original COMEDIC GOLD. And all his ass can come up with is LOL? Its not even a fucking word! Its an acronym, something that you say to people online when you have nothing else to say.

Needless to say I never spoke to him again. The right guy would've replied with a joke/anecdote involving the green stuff so it clearly wasn't meant to be. C'est la vie, bye fuckface.

As someone who grew up in the South, I use lol the same way I use the phrase "bless your heart." It's my way of telling someone that they're not funny and they're really a fucking idiot. icon_lol.gif

My rule is if they say "lol" ignore them. If they say "lol icon_biggrin.gif" with the emoticon, then i continue the conversation. Same applies for "hahahaha", once they break 2 ha's i continue the convo...im a complicated kid. But yeah, 90% of the time, its best to just ignore em.

You make a (bad) joke. The guy laughs. You're offended? Stop being such a prick. And you, Jav, what kind of dumbfuck system is that? Try being nice. It'll get you further.

pazzy saidfolks always complaining about what they don't like or are not getting but they NEVER say what they want. i bet you that you and some of these other guys complaining about lol would STILL be bitching or complaining about whatever response you get whether it's too "vague" or whatever. people are NOT mind readers or going to always abide by what you want, breh. i'm sure you would be surprised if the other guy wasn't impressed with you. folks need to stop living vicariously through the internet and on these stupid ass dating or online profiles that they know very well they can't live up. damn near everybody that depends on that shit is lying about themselves then holding other people to the same standard instead of keeping it real. it's like how are you going to act like you're the shit, have your nose up in the air, calling other people ugly or whatever when you're looking for somebody to give YOU the time of day? just makes me wonder if folks are just bitching simply to bitch about something or are delusional where they forget that they aren't the only option and plenty of OTHER guys out there competing.

Are you a mind reader Pazzy? How come you write most of the things that go inside my mind so eloquently? Your breh talks are very deep, breh.

I never put anyone on ignore or block, but I've had many guys suddenly lose their minds and block me, usually over a misunderstanding, but also sometimes because I don't say what they're looking to hear. I don't take it too personally, but I do think that turning your back on another person and writing them off forever over the tiniest infraction is poisoning the well. Sometimes it's better to forgive people. We're quite a small community to begin with.

Perhaps that's why Jav is still a virgin. LOL
