Oh pleeeeeeeeeze. You can't win for losing in the gay community. If I'm a white man who prefers to date Asians I'm called a Rice Queen. If I date blacks I'm called a Chocolate Chaser. If I date a Latino I'm called a Bean Queen or some other pejorative term. If I date whites I'm a racist.

I will date whomever I want and apologize to no one for it because in the end it is ME waking up to the other person in bed with me not the fucking gay community.

For the record I've been with white, Asian and Latin. The black man I was interested in wasn't interested in me (racist bastard) icon_wink.gif

The majority have been Latin. I like their vibe.

I like his closing sentence, purporting to discredit any dissent from his catalog of cliches. It's crap like this that alienates not just other gays and me, but A LOT of straights from gays and that most ridiculous of all, ever-expanding ethnic group, "people of color."

Think for yourselves, folks, and reject "advice" like this as the nonsense it is.

How does it alienate straight people? Straight people write these same kinds of threads. They actually go through more mental cartwheels defending their prejudices too, because they drag children, marriage and culture into it, to solidify their arguments, whereas gay men let the world know that they're just thinking with their cocks.

"Any argument to the contrary is stemmed with bigotry, and, most of all, denial."

With that statement he alienates anyone (straight or gay) who doesn't agree with him and shows himself to be the biggest closed minded bigot of them all. He's not willing to entertain any other point of view because he's already made up his mind that if you don't agree with him you are a bigot, racist, in denial, etc. Sort of like some people on this site.

Interesting read. I think he makes valid arguments. I never considered that preferences can come from a view of superiority. When folks say "no fats, no fems" its because they view them as less than.

Alienating someone by writing something controversial is a move by an author who doesn't care about the consequences to his personal life, because he has something he has to say. People can block a writer/poster for any reason, because of how they judge them as an individual, or because they don't like what they have to say. It's not always fair, but it's not the same thing as racism.

Alienating people because of their race is racism. You can call it by another name, but what else could it be?

If you blocked me because of my posts, that would be sad. If you blocked me because I'm gay, that would be homophobia. See the difference?

This guy was a little "ranty", but I get what he's saying. I agree because some people don't even get a chance because of the color of their skin or the color of their hair. Not all blacks are the same just like not all Asians of Hispanics are the same. I'm constantly told that I'm NOT black because I grew up in a suburban neighborhood, speak properly and don't really care for rap. I also don't like basketball or fried chicken, but that doesn't make me any less black. It means I grew up differently than another person. When people say to me, "This is difference for me because I'm not really attracted to black guys, but you're different" or "You're actually pretty attractive for a black guy"...That's not exactly a compliment. To make it a preference would mean that a choice was made only after sampling every ethnicity the world has to offer. BUT people can choose who they want to be with because they're the ones who will be with them. But just call it what it is.

You don't like fried chicken? icon_eek.gif

OP, I'm white and only turned on by whites. I could never hookup with Asians/blacks/etc for so many reasons. But I'm not racist. If anyone ever called me racist for that reason irl, I'd punch their teeth in. Get over it.

Yes, less than what they are looking for - nothing more, nothing less. I'm not attracted to overly fem acting men. I'm not attracted to fat. I make no apologies for it.

I'm surprised you even came up with that comment> Arent you one of those black guys that dosent date black guys for the same reasons you just said in your comment ? If i remember correctly you said ....

TallSoCal saidPersonally, I think it's because of people assuming they know how someone is before getting to know them. No offense, but I'm black myself, and I find it hard to find black guys attractive. And it's only because (in my experience in LA), black guys don't show their education, and intelligence is hot to me. I'm not saying that black guys aren't educated or intelligent, but it seems to me that they put up a front to seem cool for other people. That's just my opinion, though.

I also said "in MY experience in LA". I'm not in LA anymore, and I've dated black guys. I used that as an example because, at the time, the area was primarily black. It's mostly Hispanic now, but the level of education and intellect hasn't changed, unfortunately. I date whomever I find attractive. Ethnicity excluded. But I don't care how hot someone is or what color they are. If they only have half a brain, I won't be interested.

White. Black. Hispanic. Asian. Middle Eastern etc...

    My preference is, "yes please".
