James Bond is fictional, blonde and Scottish, but so what if he is black?

He would make a good James Bond.

Needs a gender change as well; Jamie Bond.

I was amused when the new James Bond films had a woman for M. Ian Flemming was no doubt twirling in his grave.

Maybe James Bond should be a gay character.
But why use the same old tired characters, come up with some new one ... what next, an Asian Sherlock Holmes ... a white Shaft. It would seem that the desire to change characters race that were historically written or portrayed as a certain race or gender are simply deeply seeded signs of bigotry. Also, using the same old tired characters seems to display a lack of imagination and creativity.

Yes a black James Bond TYPE of character would make a good movie.

James Bond can be any color, he is a fictional character, he can be Chinese or a gay man.

Changing up a character will make the movie more interesting to a lot to people; thankfully most people are no like the radio host who is on from 12 to 3icon_rolleyes.gif.

Most film Bonds haven't been blond, there were complaints about his hair colour when Craig was announced as Bond.
Elba's probably too well known now to be offered the role, the producers have usually selected actors with a lower public profile (except Brosnan).
Plenty of other black British actors who could do it,they may not be known for action roles but nor was Craig, who was best known for a drama , Our Friends in the North.
& yes, no problem with Bond being black.

It's not going to happen. James Bond will be play by Daniel Craig. He's under contract for like 2-3 more pictures. If you're a hardcore Bond fan like me, I read an article/interview a while ago. It states that Eon Productions/United Artists/MGM won't change their way of casting. They would lose a massive fan base if Bond turns to be Chinese, Or Black, Latino. Daniel Craig wanted Bond to have a gay sex scene in Casino Royale but the producers killed the idea. They want their hetero women group fan base. And the producers only Hire English/Scottish actors for the Bond Role. (With only an exception of George Lazenby, an Australian). Because most/all people associate James Bond to be a handsome *white/English spy fictional character that represent England/UK. But you can see many ethnic actors/actresses in side-kick, supporting roles. I still like that Korean American actor Rick Yune, who played such a Bad Ass Korean guy with a sexy Diamond face in Die Another Day. icon_biggrin.gif
