RJ Muscle-Building Workout

    So is anyone else using the RJ workouts? I thought I was in pretty good shape and I started the muscle-building workout-- and discovered I couldn't get through the first week! So I took it back and did the so-called beginners routine for 3 months, and found it to be a good challenge. Now I've tried the muscle-building one again-- and I still am having trouble with the first workouts! I've vowed to repeat the first week over and over until I can get through all the routines at the minimum (or zero!) weight, but it would be nice to know if other people are having the same challenges...

    I haven't done the workouts but I regularly add new exercises from RJ to my routine... And most of them have been challenging and have made a difference. It wouldn't be a bad idea to try whole workouts as well.

    i tried doing the muscle building workout, and i could not get through the first week either.

    a lot of the exercises on it are really difficult. keep in mind that you can modify it to fit your needs.

    I'm about to start week 3. The first week was rough and I kept thinking maybe I need to get stronger before I start. I thought about giving the beginners routine a shot if I was still having trouble with week 2. When I started week 2 I already could feel myself getting stronger so I'm sticking with it. Some stuff I can't do so I find an alternative until I can do it. I think part of it is that I'm doing exercises that I'm unfamiliar with and I'm not used to super setting that much. Mix that and your doing a couple of exercises that you need to remember what your doing. But I'm learning and it's not kicking my ass as much as it did in the beginning.

    More than likely I'll restart after I complete the 12 weeks and see how that goes.

    I did the Strong & Lean workouts 4 times before moving onto the Muscle Building workouts. The S&L workouts gave me a lot more core strength that I know is very helpful and gets me through these workouts. You might want to try them first.

    I'm doing this routine right now. I'm on week 8. Should've been done already, but had to repeat some weeks because of the holidays/work. I had a hard time getting through the workouts in the first week or 2, but now I can get through them fine. I like the workout because it forced me to do some new exercises and movements I've never tried before or skipped because they were too hard. But if you stick with it, it pays off. I'm definitely hitting new muscles and seeing good growth.
